a map of Franklin County Ohio showing the Columbus Election results for District 7 Jesse Vogel dominates downtown and north Columbus, Tiara Ross wins almost all of east Columbus, and there’s a mix on the west side

What if the Columbus City Council election was a ward system instead where only District 7 residents voted for the District 7 race?

Vogel 62% (10,829 votes)
Ross 38% (6,592 votes)

Vogel won 60 of the 79 precincts in District 7 (76%)

Ohio-based trio The Peel weave the traditional with the experimental for songs that reflect the dissonance of modern life with our natural surroundings. Draped in wooded hues, the first single, “Adam Disturbed a Bird,” finds the trio’s strings sparring in a concert of voices. bit.ly/4lWtxIM

If you don't have at least one case that makes you want to quit your job daily, are you even a litigator?

Allen Sanderson, who sparked ‘a love for economics’ in undergraduates, 1943-2025 Renowned sports economist remembered for his wit and devotion to his students

I channel Prof Sanderson every time I argue against tax subsidies for sports stadiums and for paying college athletes. He made economics accessible to this art history major - rest in peace

No resource suggestions (though I am definitely following to get same!), but when I started, I asked more senior women in my program for a specific phrasing on how to respond to such advances. Our retainer says sexual harassment is cause for withdrawal, but behavior up to that line is trickier...

I've done enough school expulsion cases involving pocket knives to know some strict terms need to be proffered 😂

There's an elder gentleman who was *thrown out and banned* from our local Kroger over a very loud vocal protest (with some obscenities) about the inequities of digital coupons

I use this case all the time! You would be shocked at how many non-attorney landlords believe they can represent their LLC in court.

Always down for weird music talk. Check out Lung, making awesome music right now. I'm playing MJ Lenderman's new album on repeat these days. Amyl and the Sniffers was my favorite live band that I saw in the last year. Also following for recs!

I used to care so much about such things, and then I started a job where occasionally I have to write briefs in < 2 hrs and ... poof. The care was gone.

SB 29, designed to protect student privacy, is causing headaches for some school districts A teacher at Nelsonville-York High School says they're experiencing broad uncertainty about what exactly counts as a violation of SB 29.

Yep. Our local npr covered the ridiculousness last month: woub.org/2024/11/08/s...

Weird law & weird response. Our district just sent out one blanket email in late Oct stating they were "electing to generally monitor all school-issued devices (as that term is defined by R.C. 3319.325)" ... "as a necessary precaution for preventing and/or responding to threats to life or safety."
