Wow, that’s so great, she must’ve had so many stories from those times. What a cool Mum! Look after yourself Nick, thinking of you and your Mum, take care x

Exactly the same Nick. Days go by and I’m ok. Random moment on a Tuesday at 11 o’clock in the morning at work, and I have to leave the office suddenly as I’m overcome with sadness. We’ll get there I’m sure. Music is helping massively at the moment, always a balm.
My Mum passed away last October. I miss her terribly & find it’s getting tougher as the longer evenings are coming in, she loved this time of year coming into summer & I find myself thinking of her a lot recently. I also like records and, for me, cheap beer. They’ve helped me too. Hang in there man.
Happy Birthday Johnny!
Oh my word - I can only imagine, and again, like me with the jazz albums, unless you know what you’re looking at it, it may as well be a non discript comp LP. There’s still treasures to be had, which is what I love about buying records, even now you still get bargains. That Scott 3 however
That’s fantastic, I love hearing these stories from record shopping back in the 80s / 90s. Only equivalent was getting LPs from Recycle Recs in SF in late 90s posted to Ireland. Some great psych / folk rock LPs for FA but I always think now of the jazz LPs we could’ve bought had I known about them…
Wow…three quid?! Love it!
One of my very favourite albums of all time. Have vivid memories of listening to this LP in my folks house early summer 1992, lying on the bedroom floor. Cracking record.
Yip that’s the plan - those episodes on Edge of Darkness and Harry’s Game are first up.
Thanks for pointing this out Jason. I hadn’t heard of it before now. New walk to work podcast sorted! Nice one.
Brilliant news Bob, exactly what I needed to cheer me up on a cold, damp Tuesday in February…thanks a million!
This is excellent news Bob, really looking forward to the new episode, the others are magical!
Wow, what a fantastic find!!
I love that Millennium album so much, heard it first in the late 90s and it brings back some very happy memories, thanks for reminding me!
This is a great interview Bob, thanks for sharing.
Will be watching this later, thanks for posting this Johnny!
@birmingham81.bsky.social it was The Hollow Men…
What a boss!!
Huge fan of Trunk Records, and Jonny is one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet. I’ve been a fan since the late 90s, and have obsessively bought all the records and a ridiculous amount of tee shirts. Jonny is a national treasure. Great interview Bob, thanks a million for posting it up!
Ah shit Jason, hope you’re ok man.
I still have an invoice from an eBay seller inside an orig press 60s LP that I bought in 2001 from the states. $4 for the postage. The postage hikes over the last 10 years from the US for records is insane.
Holy crap!! Fantastic find!
Thanks a million for this Paul!
Yip it’s a belter! Sounds like the other Papas and Mamas singing on it as well(to my ears at least!).
Aw class tune Nick, nice one!
And Hinterland…my god, it must be over 35 years since I last heard ‘Desert Boots’, but I must’ve played it about 50 times in the last few days. Amazing song, brings back such good memories for me from the early 90s. Thanks a million for all of this Paul, looking forward to the next eps.
The heat truely is murderous at the moment Paul! Fantastic episode on Cypress, Mine! I’ve been spending the last few weeks delving into the podcast on my half hour walk to work each morning, and they’re brilliant. Some bands I know, others I don’t but each one is chock full of great insights! Class!
Jesus fucking Christ
The St Vitus Dance album ‘Love Me Love My Dogma’ is fantastic. Noel Burke was a great singer and wrote some cracking songs.
Another one for Lennon. Always sounded like JL to me, and I was a bit perplexed when I heard about this debate a few years back. To my ears, it can only be JL.
