also Made in Saturn came from Codex in nyc but I only learned of Rita Indiana from previously buying Tentacle at City of Asylum, a phenomenal (& mostly translated) bookshop in Pittsburgh.
today i finished Sololand by Hassan Blasim (ar), thanks to my local library for the discovery! I immediately ordered 2 more of his books.
the only specific reading goal i have this year is to read at least one translated book each month.
i missed it in Jan but i did read Rita Indiana's "Made in Saturn" (es) at the very end of Dec.
ugh it finally happened, i got forced off the road while running. i sank over a foot into snow and mud before falling onto the pavement! i'm totally fine i'll just be avoiding that particular curve... i saw another car cutting it on my way back like dude...
we only saw 2 in theatres: The Secret Agent (drove an hr and came out to 6" of new snow) and Resurrection. they were 2 faves along with Parallel Mothers (Almodovar) and Amarcord, which he'd been bugging me to watch for many years
we saw 24 movies in jan! after f went Berlanga crazy on my friend's criterion subscriptsh last yr he got his own for xmas and we canceled all other streaming. we also got more regular about hitting the library and used dvd shops.
