140 pages into my reread of HD and I can see why I love HD so much more than EoS. I can sum it up in one word.

Direction.

We have goals, we know where we want to go, we have a mission, we have stakes.

EoS was fun but it felt like it was lacking progression.

Finished up EoS and moving on to my reread of Howling Dark!

Chapter 1 of HD is FILLED with info on what's going on.

There's a lot to keep track of from people, relationships, past battles, ships, planets and the current objective.

Overwhelming? Maybe, but for good reason 🦾

This is my 2nd King book ever! Loving it so far

I've been listening to The Stand off and on now for a couple of weeks and it's been amazing. Down right scary at times too.

King's character work is top tier where each person feels real almost immediately.

Also, whenever I sneeze, this book now pops into my brain 😳

15% into the story so far!

EoS Chapter 1 -
"But before I was any of these, I was a son."

RR Chapter 1 -
"The first thing you should know about me is I am my father's son."

COINCIDENCE?!?!?!

I think so, maybe, probably not 😂

20 chapters into my 3rd reread of EoS and it's been going great.

You can really tell that Ruocchio had a grand plan for this series with so many little details that flash forward in future books.

However, I can also see why some folks don't jive with it...
