Future Impacts had the opportunity to support this work, particularly as EUDA designed this foresight toolkit and related resources.

In addition, we collaborated with the EUDA to create the framework scenarios for the future of drugs and addiction in the EU, that this toolkit is based on.

The toolkit describes, step-by-step, how the EUDA’s global framework scenarios can be used as a practical workshop tool to support anticipatory thinking, preparedness, decision-making, and governance.

Over recent years, the EUDA has taken major steps to strengthen its foresight capacity.

The scenario workshop toolkit by the European Union Drugs Agency supports stakeholders, researchers, and other actors in the drugs and addictions field to understand uncertainties, analyse implications, and identify actions for the future.

The novel follows three characters whose lives reflect different forms of precarity and their stories reveal how deeply unequal structures shape everyday life. When women begin lying down in front of hospitals and public institutions, they expose how much society depends on their invisible work.

Set in the near future, this book imagines a society in which women quietly withdraw from the expectations placed upon them. Instead of protesting loudly, they choose silence, stillness, and refusal—and in doing so, begin to reshape the social order.

Within the 4Growth project, Future Impacts contributes to the foresight module, exploring how framework conditions for agriculture and forestry may evolve—particularly in the context of their digital transformation.

Through meta-reflection, participants explored the potential winners, losers, enablers, and barriers that influence the adoption of digital technologies. These insights helped clarify scenario implications and improve understanding of the challenges and opportunities of disseminating innovation.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF AGRICULTURE 🌾 AND FORESTRY 🌳

At the third 4Growth Consortium Meeting, we tested a newly developed foresight tool, “Foresight Actor Ecosystem Mapping,” to better understand the complex ecosystem of actors shaping the future of digital solutions in agriculture and forestry.

The dialogue showed that climate action and enlargement are not parallel agendas—but mutually reinforcing pathways toward a resilient and future-ready Europe.

The event, with its interesting programme, sparked high attention of people attending in Brussels and joining online. The inspirational panel discussion and interactive foresight session - the latter was co-facilitated by Eckhard from our team - highlighted key areas for action.

The discussion paper builds on a democratic futures workshop held in Albania in October 2025, organised by International IDEA, with the support of Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) Albania. We supported the process by designing and facilitating the futures dialogue on democracy.
