Kevin Powell standing on stage in front of a large screen which shows some css which reads: .my-website { all: ai; }
Shortest talk ever on CSS layout.
@kevinpowell.co at @smashingconf.com.
ahh ok i thought it might be rhyming slang
the what-ists?
Yes, it's Threads, but I think it's also part of a fascinating way that the sheer scale of space kind of breaks our brains/renders a lot of our political analogies moot.
Peter Magyar confirmed that Szijjarto, Orbán's FM, has barricaded himself with some of his closest colleagues and is shredding documents related to the sanctions on Russia any other evidence of treason.
Péter Magyar victory speech:
"Hungary wants to be a European country again. We want to return to Europe."
The crowd immediately chants "Russians, go home" in response.
It’s a special kind of pleasure to see a Russian investment and a MAGA endorsement backfire massively ☺️
Major anti-Orbán protests in Hungary tonight!
I really hope these people can take their country back tomorrow and free us all from the burden of dealing with an overgrown russian puppet.
Artemis II Return NASA's Orion spacecraft carrying Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, and Mission Specialist Christina Koch from NASA, along with Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen from the CSA (Canadian Space Agency), splashes down in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California, at 5:07 p.m. PDT, (8:07 p.m. EDT) on Friday, April 10, 2026. The Artemis II test flight launched on Wednesday, April 1, from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida to begin its 10-day journey around the Moon for scientific discovery, economic benefits, and to build on our foundation for the first crewed missions to Mars. NASA’s Landing and Recovery team and the U.S. military are coordinating efforts to extract the Artemis II crew from the Orion spacecraft. Credit: NASA/Josh Valcarcel
What a great photo just added on the NASA Johnson Flickr page www.flickr.com/photos/nasa2...
Late to this fascinating @ftweekend.com article about the history of the Bayeux tapestry, a study in the power of history, the importance of art in wartime, cultural diplomacy and Anglo-French relations since Brexit. Will now try to get a ticket for the @britishmuseum.bsky.social exhibition.
Well done Ukraine
“Zelenskyy said Ukrainian military teams dispatched across the Middle East last month had already delivered “positive” results by intercepting Iranian Shahed suicide drones in “several” Gulf countries hosting US military infrastructure.
“Did we destroy them? Yes, we did,” he said”
More people died in Israel's latest bombing of Lebanon than died in the 2020 Beirut port blast

Another one who thinks the response to a global shortage of something which makes it more expensive is to subsidise people to buy more of it. Truly British politics is blessed with genius.
You can't hold minor parties like the Conservatives to the same standards as parties of government like the Greens
[alt text by NASA] The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by one of the cameras on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wings. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA
Whoa 🤯
The Moon, in full eclipse, with the #Artemis II Orion spacecraft. Part of the Moon and spacecraft are lit by Earthshine, and both Saturn and Mars are visible to the lower right. Incredible. Details: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...
medusaglare › Artemis I| 7h @ Threads i thought i stopped caring about space. turns out I was just sick of SpaceX, not NASA. • 18.3K Q145 G807ł → 143
Speaking of Threads, this one got me in the feels.
ICYMI this is a great read for the bank holiday weekend
Christopher Penn wrote: Just remember that given the abundance of neurodivergent people in science, it's far more likely that autism causes vaccines.
A different perspective.
Always helpful.
Look for "drone wall".
The UKR people pitched it to usa last summer who said no eff off
Then they took it to Europeans who were positive but slow
Urgh it was all over the other place and im still looking
I dont think so but let me check
Have you seen the "drone defence map" that Z recently pimped? Basically says Finland to east Africa needs to invest in a swarm 100miles deep or be effed over.
This horrible reality must be exposed and defeated.
I am not writing this to help Israel’s haters, but to help save my country and identity.
Many Israelis are fighting to oust our current evil regime and its thuggish protégés.

A person wearing blue surgical gloves plus a bear shaped mask and a long fur coat in order to feed a little tiny baby bear.
I think it's vitally important that everyone know that when baby bear cubs are orphaned and taken to our local wildlife center, they get fed and rehabbed by people masking their scent and wearing costumes like this so they don't get habituated to humans
This is the way. Paris is so much better now.
