Ah, the fabled "Sliced Bread no. 1"

Too bad Lou Thesz never went to France to defend the NWA World Title. Paper champion!
Turnabout is fair play, except when it doesn't work
Time to bring this back
at risk of spending all day sharing and agreeing - wrestling largely only has itself to blame, but I hate that count-outs, DQs, and time limit draws are considered "non-finishes". They are a booked finish as much as any other, and treating them as *inherently* bad cuts off an avenue of storytelling.
Now THAT is a headlock takeover
This one clip pretty well encapsulates both aspects of French Catch: fancy moves and potatoes.
"Crowd Chants ‘Fuck TKO’ After WrestleMania 42" WWE fans have to be the dumbest group of people on the planet. You can chant whatever you want about me after you give me $10000 & I will probably ignore you.
Browsing this company's website and the only way I can describe what I'm seeing is imagine a school shooter was a management consultant
This looks fantastic.
I just want to watch wrestling in front of crowds who care about who wins & who loses. I want crowds reacting to near falls because "Yay my favorite is going to win!" or "No! My favorite is going to lose!" not "Oh my gosh he kicked out of The Wizard's Shining Robe Version 12~!"
The angle on the dropkick is kind of crazy
Joachim La Barba gets catapulted over the top rope and onto the ringside table. This led to a count out as La Barba was unable to get back in the ring in time. Hell of a finish imo and modern wrestling has lost so many recipes giving up on doing *good* count outs & DQs.
Not broke, just impossibly greedy
Orléans Stampede?
French Catch had the most aggressive referees I've ever seen.
When the crowd is so close you can't really do any heel spots using the ropes for leverage
What?
Brock saw that overly long ass sleeper that ended John Cena's career and said "That ain't gonna be me"
Making up my own conspiracy theory that Heyman and Brock worked WWE into thinking that he'd retire at SummerSlam so they could do his retirement match the way they wanted without anyone fucking with it.
I haven't seen that much yet but so far Inca Peruano is my favorite guy to watch from the old French Catch stuff
Dr Adolf Kaiser defeats Warnia de Zarzecki using a Dragon Sleeper in this March 29th 1957 match from France. Zarzecki has to be helped out of the ring afterwards.
There's some shit going on in the crowd so everyone has decided to ignore the match going on in the ring. A universal trait of wrestling fans.
Incredible running powerslam from Jim Oliver to win this match over Iska Khan
