I just launched a #Kickstarter to produce a zine of drawings done on found paper.

My last crowd-funded project was back in 2013 and the landscape has changed a lot. If this goes well, I plan to get back to shipping things like this more regularly.

Massacre masterpiece: Pablo Picasso’s “Guernica” depicts the massacre of innocents during the Spanish Civil War between Fascists and Nationalists in the years leading up to World War II. The painting employs elements of Picasso’s earlier Cubist style to invoke the chaos of war while also using a cartoon style that predates 1950s animation and which, in the painting, strongly conveys horror and despair. Figures in the composition include a gored horse, a cross-eyed bull, screaming people, a dead baby and its utterly despairing mother, a dismembered soldier, burning buildings, and an image at the top that simultaneously invokes the sun, an electric overhead light, and the eye of God. I used this because a photo of Gaza would be too disturbing and (I feared) might trivialize that ongoing atrocity, but in my mind, the actions of the IDF in Gaza appear to be Trump’s endgame for Americans of color, visitors of color, and everyone else he hates or who dares to criticize him.

We are nearly at the “fire on unarmed people seeking food” phase of the GOP’s plan for Americans.

Also, Trump is a proudly ignorant fascist, and every day with him as president of the US is more shameful than the last.
