Seven people have been arrested at Lakenheath Peace Camp under the Terrorism Act while wearing tabards with individual words written on them.
When combined, their tabards read “We oppose genocide, we support Palestine Action”.

Record-warm March after an unusually dry and snow-poor winter has pushed nationwide snow amounts to unprecedentedly low levels.
Snowmelt is occurring more than a month earlier than usual. Normally, these snow depths would be present around May Day.
As a counter to the "what's the point because things will never change" crowd, having current mayors in different cities so clearly challenge the premise that cars are good and necessary for full enfranchisement in society is not a thing that would have happened just a few short years ago.
🔥 Fossil fuel ££ doesn’t just drive climate breakdown, it shapes media narratives, fuels political influence & props up the systems that divide us
⚠️ You can’t fight hate without confronting the power behind it
✊ Cut The Ties between ffs, media & political influence
#BigOil #March28 #StandTogether
📢 As Big Oil shared with The Guardian:
“Big Oil are one of the major funders of Reform UK… Big Oil’s tentacles reach across through many industries.”
✂️ “We’re here to make that link that we need to Cut The Ties to Fossil Fuels.”
TOGETHER 🖤
Half a million people took to the streets today in the UK’s biggest anti-far right march ✊
Cut The Ties was there to expose what often sits behind it…
💰 fossil fuel money, media narratives and political influence fuelling division and driving the rise of the far right
11/ Another thing that we can do is diversify our supply.
Investing in national, community and family scale production can also help reduce supply shocks.
For households or communities gardeners that might mean growing your own vegetables, Huw Richards has great advice for UK growers.
10/ One thing we can do as nations, communities and as families is to gradually build stockpiles during times of plenty to act as buffers in the case of a supply shock.
As @georgemonbiot.bsky.social argues...
"Building a reserve while food is abundant reduces demand in a crisis."
9/ Someone I feel is particularly worth listening to on this crucial topic is Prof. Tim Benton, at @envleeds.bsky.social, a leading expert on global food security
In this podcast he explains what’s driving the collapse of our food systems and what it would take to build something truly regenerative
8/ We know government's are aware, but aren't yet acting:
"the authors warned that environmental policies were insufficient to reverse the decline of the soils, pollinators, water courses and habitats on which farmers depended and said that “transformational change” was required to restore them."
7/ Experts are warning that -
"there is a greater than 5% chance of serious civil unrest over the next 10–50 years, with an increase in plausibility, as expected, for the 50-year timeframe"
Which strikes me as a classic case of scientific understatement.
www.mdpi.com/2071-1050/15...
6/ "The experts highlighted the many existing chronic issues creating a tinderbox for an acute risk to lead to a food crisis in the UK..."
"a UK food availability and/or price shock that could result in widespread fear of unsafe or inadequate food, leading to violence"
www.mdpi.com/2071-1050/18...
5/ Which has major implications for global food security.
"These results demonstrate a high potential for an upcoming global record-shattering drought in crop-producing areas, an under-recognized risk for food security."
4/ "For droughts in global key breadbasket regions, precipitation extremes over highly populated areas and fire weather extremes across forests, global climatic impact-drivers at 2 °C of global warming may turn out to be much more extreme than model-averaged projections at 3 °C or 4 °C warming"
3/ I shared an analysis recently suggesting that 2C may arrive sooner than is commonly realised... and with it climatic extremes unprecedented in human history.
2/ Recent work by Forster and @rahmstorf.bsky.social concludes that there has been "a statistically significant acceleration of global warming since about the year 2015."
We're going to overshoot the 1.5C target and are headed to beyond 2C within the next few decades.
6 front pages of articles about climate risk connected by a red line.
1/ For those of us keeping an eye on systemic #climate risks, these aren’t difficult dots to connect.
I find it downright frightening. We need to brace for impacts and spring into preparedness now.
This thread outlines 6 key papers and what we can do in response. ⬇️🧵
Forecasts depend on access to 24/7 global observations.
WMO is paving the way for a radical overhaul of the international exchange of weather data, so we can better observe today and protect tomorrow.

The last 11 years have been the hottest years ever recorded. Earth’s energy imbalance has reached its highest than at any time in observed history, with heat reaching deeper into the ocean. This is the Global #StateOfClimate 2025.
