The kids have graduated to watching 7-and-up Netflix shows (and watching too much TV)

I'll still be coloring & reusing some other old comic artwork for the game. I hope folks like it and it looks good! My art style has changed a lot....

I had been planning to reuse some artwork from my comics (colorized) for the Dreamland RPG to illustrate the village of Ulthar. But!! In the setting material for my game, the 'timeline is moved forward' a bit, so to speak, so Ulthar is more urban and less of a little village than I drew it back then

Thank you for reminding me! I just randomly discovered that particular manga, if I recall... your Yaguchi knowledge far exceeds mine!! His work is lovely!

Finally a Takao Yaguchi art book! Not super comprehensive, but I’ve wanted one of these for years

Whenever I see these kinds of 'totally made-up monsters ecology' on an Earthlike world in stories I can't help overthinking, where do 'real' animals fit in. A solution in search of a problem

Those SF books have the coolest scariest depiction of an alien ecology, basically, totally supplanting Earthly plants & animals. Clearly this is what happened offscreen before the beginning of the Pokémon stories

Is it wrong that the Pokémon ecology makes me think of the "War Against the Chtorr" novels

As a basic principle I agree that people should practice more forgiveness and restorative justice instead of condemning people to Eternal Badness forever.

However it comes down to case by case, so for example, it’d take a lot for me to forgive Alex Karp for his role as weapons dealer to genocide.

Flotilla Tracker - Global Sumud Flotilla Join Global Sumud Flotilla Spring 2026 Mission: Stand with Gaza. Support Palestine and demand justice. Act now.

There’s another fleet (39 ships + rising) of boats crossing the Mediterranean to try to break the Israeli siege of Gaza. I haven’t heard as much news about as I did about last year’s flotilla— but then, it’s the same with all news about Gaza. :( Track the boats here: globalsumudflotilla.org/tracker/

Even during the "ceasefire", the Israelis are still demolishing entire villages in southern Lebanon with armored bulldozers. In fact, civilian contractors hired by the army receive pay which is based on the number of buildings destroyed.

Schumer voted against blocking the sale of these bulldozers.

Note that i haven’t seen this film so I don’t know if it’s actually good, but based on his other films, which were pretty good, I’d watch it

One nice thing about being a parent is that when I see movies like Lee Cronin’s new “The Mummy” it emotionally affects me whereas before I’d be like, eh, what is happening to the single people

Reading a dream stories anthology and there is a very cool little ancient stort by Shen Chi-chi (c.750-800… this book is old so the name is Anglicized in Wade-Gilles I think) in which a guy enters a dream realm through a magic pillow into which he crawls. Never seen that particular image before

Way back in the day, I remember that was one of the canceled viz manga that ends at the most annoying point. If they’d gone one more volume it would have ended in a cool dark spot with the hero (seemingly) dead!

Asking people to even slightly restrain their unrealistic hyperbole about things they politically dislike is, admittedly, an impossible ask in 2026

Can women get scolded or maybe fined if some morality police sees them? Possibly. Is this bad? Yes. But they are obviously not being arrested or *killed* (and never were killed even in Iran’s more restrictive 1980s) yet people will shamelessly LIE about this to support their pro war narrative.

It’s amazing that any random pictures of Iranian cities (these 3 are all from today on Al Jazeera) will show women with their hair uncovered. But idiots and bigots will still make insane claims that women will be killed or imprisoned for not wearing the veil.

This is what Israel’s use of US-made bombs and bulldozers in Palestine and Lebanon looks like.

The Senate votes TODAY on blocking these weapons to Israel.

Call your Senators right now and tell them vote YES: imeupolicy.org/noweapons

This is different from ‘sabotaging yourself and the rest of the party because you think it would be funny and you don’t really care’ which I think is more common RPG behavior
