‘He stopped me from talking to male colleagues’: new research shows how domestic violence so often starts with isolation and control First came psychological abuse, then physical, then came sexual abuse.

Study (N=815) finds domestic violence starts w/ coercive control over who a partner can see, what they wear, where they can go or questioning the partner's sanity. On average, physical abuse doesn't start until after marriage or moving into together.
