Home Depot Cannot Remain Silent. The Home Depot must stand up for day laborers, employees, and customers facing racial profiling and ICE enforcement at its stores. Silence in the face of injustice makes the company complicit. It’s time to protect workers’ constitutional rights and ICE raids on Home Depot property. Below are our requested demands with Home Depot. 1. End its contract with Flock Safety and require that any of its data collection contractors not share data with law enforcement without a warrant. 2. Implement new security protocols to prevent unconstitutional entry and protect employees' rights 2A. Clearly mark “private” employee areas, post signage, and educate staff that law enforcement needs a judicial warrant to access those spaces. 2B. Create a safety plan to protect employees, customers, and day laborers in stores and parking lots from racial profiling, harassment, and ICE-related arrests. 3. Host all-staff training: Ensure all employees in all stores know what their rights are and how to protect themselves when approached by federal agents. 4. Publicize your support: Signal to staff, patrons and the wider community that the Home Depot is opposed to unconstitutional entry by federal agents and believes that ICE’s current approach to enforcing immigration policy is excessive and harmful to our communities.
