Oh, I didn’t give those a try, but I had a colleague years ago from Lithuania who gifted me mead from there and it’s definitely dangerous 😂

Black Balsam?
The nice thing abt the Baltic states is they’re quite small so tripping out of cities to other places doesn’t break the bank.
Ooh, where did you go in Lithuania?
Oh, the honey cake. *nods wisely*
Fantastic views from up there. Was the first thing we did along with wandering the central market, since they’re both by the train station.
Oh and also gin, because juniper is abundant.
They do make good booze, and Estonia has a bunch of small craft breweries. Never tried the stout but there’s a birch beer I absolutely loved, plus Vana Tallinn and several fruit based wines.
If you follow it up with a chaser of Vana Tallinn (bloody nice local liqueur) I think it counts as a cross-cultural experience ;)
Yay! I’ve yet to have a bad coach experience in the Baltics. I do prefer trains, but limited lines and frequencies just sometimes make coaches the more convenient option as there’s loads of ‘em. Relatively light highway traffic is a boon.
Good weather for it, I hope :)
Haha :)))
as someone who normally keeps 20+ tabs open at all times and knows this is a problem, using tab groups is like a hoarder resolving they'll clean their house and instead they go rent out a storage unit and hide their trash in there now
Yay! I found that place via Google maps, quite by chance. Top scran :)
I still find it quicker to get into the EU area than to get back into the UK, ironically

Sorry for belated drive by but Helen Hindpere is reportedly at Red Info with Robert Kurvitz and Aleksander Rostov. Martin Luiga suggested in a YouTube podcast in December that he’s also been working with them in some capacity.
Maybe the real trade war was the reputational damage we pointlessly self-inflicted along the way?
Eastern European takeover of @versobooks.bsky.social tomoza!
I'll be joined by the multi-talented Robert Kurvitz (co-creator of Disco Elysium), the plan is to play & discuss Fallout 1, it being us probably w/ a bunch of tangents on art & politics.
7pm Tallinn time. ✨

Argo Tuulik’s fundraiser reached its target today and the thank you note is as beautifully written as you’d expect.
This was a truly beautiful thing to happen in the community.
You can keep me on this earth. Be vigilant. I love you.

On an atomic level, the human body is 99.9999999% empty space so I'm thinking about setting up an Airbnb in there.

I haven’t really talked with other people much about the doc, or my feelings regarding it, so you’re undoubtedly far better informed than I am on the average general audience view, and I’m glad you explained it.
I rewatched the PMG doc yesterday btw, as suggested. But - I don’t feel any differently about the issues I have with the 2nd half of it than I did during the previous 2 times I watched it. Then again, I didn’t go into it the first time with the same expectations you described in the podcast, either.
Yeah it threw me a bit because I could guess the context.
I thoroughly approve that you enforced the Cat Tax btw ;)
