Dear Costco Member,

Costco records indicate that you, or one of your add-on members have purchased Synergy Restaurant Gift Cards between October 27th, 2025 and January 26th, 2026.

Unfortunately, we were recently notified by the Synergy Gift Card Network/Synergy World they would be ceasing operations effective January 31st, 2026.

If after this date you are unable to use the remaining card balance, please return them to your local Costco for a refund.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Some restaurant gift cards purchased at/through Costco may no longer be valid. Synergy Restaurant Gift Cards (Items #1966389 and #1622409). Synergy appears to have cards for a variety of restaurants, so check with your Costco to be sure.

“We told the truth, we obeyed the law, and we kept the peace.” - Carter/Mondale, on how they wanted their time in office to be remembered.

We should all strive for this, no matter what we face.

A screenshot of PayPal's terms of service. Big wall of legalese text, which I will be pasting in below. You don't need to read it, here's the important part:

"The key update to the Privacy Statement explains how we will share information with merchants to personalize your shopping experience and recommend our services to you. Personal information we disclose includes, for example, products, preferences, sizes, and styles we think you’ll like. Information gathered about you after the effective date of our updated Privacy Statement, November 27, 2024, will be shared with participating stores where you shop."

Here's the whole paragraph:

We are updating our Privacy Statement to explain how, starting early Summer 2025, we will share information to help improve your shopping experience and make it more personalized for you. In 2025 (less than 30 days away), PayPal will start selling your transaction history for targeted advertising.

I very highly recommend logging into your account and going to Settings > Data & Privacy > Personalized Shopping.

If you're reading this, turn that off RIGHT NOW before you forget.

U.S. officials urge Americans to use encrypted apps amid cyberattack Officials from the FBI and CISA said it was impossible to predict when the telecommunications companies would be fully safe from interlopers.

In a call today about the ongoing difficulties remediating kicking China's hackers out of US telecoms, FBI and CISA suggested you call and text with encryption. (Really)

I’ve had this happen before; no signs of condolence from the office where I was assigned, though I received flowers from a group of friends/former coworkers who banded together. This year, when my Dad passed, a company I was interviewing with went out of their way to show support. Makes a big diff.

Today I've decided to start collect a starter pack of active OSINT accounts that DID NOT LET THE ACCOUNT SUMMER 2023 (like most users), but make posts with at least some regularity.

So far there are few of them (see the list in the comments and suggest who to add)
