Nearly every IT skill I developed was on the job. For me it was made possible by sitting side-by-side with fellow coworkers who were experts. Through collaboration and skill-sharing we all excelled. I am thankful for that. Be open. Be curious. Try.

Pete Buttigieg breaks down DEI for everyday folks…

“The opposite of diversity is uniformity. The opposite of equity is inequity. The opposite of inclusion is exclusion.” @petebuttigieg.bsky.social

Our problem: too many value uniformity over inclusion and they’re the ones running the government.

Serious question: can the president just spend all his time in office suing people and then use the litigation as a "legal" way of accepting bribes via "settlements"?

I definitely had the same thought with the Meta settlement - a clever way around campaign donation regulations.

I have a co-working space for when I need it, like a conference room, training room, etc. Generally orgs with more than one physical location - WFH makes more sense. Too often I read about ppl being forced to work onsite even though all their meetings are virtual anyway. Pointless.

I WFH and have since 2020. I run my own tech business from home. I work with people in multiple times zones. When I hire, there is a dearth of highly qualified applicants in tech who just want to be treated like adults, to be trusted as SMEs. This "debate" works in my favor.

Though I am resistant to the current administration, I don't subscribe to the extremely polarizing message of "us v them". The world, and everyone's world views, are more nuanced than that. Arguably, deep polarization got us into this mess.

Antiabortion advocates look for men to report their partners’ abortions Male partners can have uniquely personal and specific information that help surface new lawsuits in states with abortion bans.

As antiabortion advocates launch legal efforts to stop abortion pills from reaching women in states with bans, they are increasingly turning to one group with uniquely intimate and specific information to help them find cases: male sex partners of women who decided to end their pregnancies.

I'm working toward my full migration from FB and Instagram. I don't have much to say, other than I'm horrified by the direction of Meta and X. I hope to connect with more social media refugees on Bluesky.
