Enjoyed Queen's Gambit. Walter Tevis was particularly good at dialogue. His style is understated but powerful. He was also a social conscious writer. So I'm likely to read all his books. Started Mockingbird, his sci-fi book, and I'm hooked already.

My new favorite chess opening is 1c4 2e4, a variation on The English. Sometimes I bring one of the knights out on 2, and if my opponent plays 1..d5, I'll play 2e3. Anyway, 1c4 2e4 is the usual, however, that variation is not included in Modern Chess Openings. Anyone know why? #chess

Just finished The Running Man. Nothing like the movie, which I like. The book is gritty and dark in ways the movie didn't even touch. Surprised they haven't made this into a movie again. Give it an early Black Mirror sheen and it would work,I think.
