๐Ÿ’กRestored reefs recovered coral cover and some fish populations within 5 years, but not coral diversity and all fish populations.

๐Ÿก Corallivorous fish had ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต recovered to the same extent - there were more corallivores than on degraded reefs, but still only ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ง as many as on healthy reefs.

๐Ÿ“Š This is likely to do with coral ๐’…๐’Š๐’—๐’†๐’“๐’”๐’Š๐’•๐’š - the preferred diets of corallivores were corals that were rare on restored reefs.

We surveyed corals and fishes on recently restored coral reefs (~5 yrs old), and found that...

๐Ÿชธ Coral cover had recovered to approx. healthy levels
