So, turns out the president of Portugal popped into Tomar's rock club night yesterday evening, my friend has a selfie with him. I knew he was staying at the hotel over the road cos the intense security gave it away. Even so ...

Bought some fancy chocolates for Easter, they are so pretty. Note: the box is now almost empty.

The Trektellen app shows some #Swifts passing through the Medoc region, just above Bordeaux, and rather a lot above Corsica. The first Swift was seen in #Lewes on 14th April last year - not long to wait before we are scanning the skies.

Seconded. Really could do without!

Think binning the zip up bra is the way to go.

Also, almost spit out my tea! In fits of giggles now 🤣

Said Bom dia! to one of my Portuguese neighbours (vizhinhos) this morning and he called a cheery good morning, then proceeded to tell me I am very kind and Portugal needs more people like me to come and live here. He said this in both Portuguese and English, bless him. Put a smile on my face :)

January Sightings – the Recorder will be away On 1st a drake Goldeneye again at East Pool hide, 7 Snipe and a Treecreeper in Dams car park. At East Lea: 55 Wigeon, Redshank, Redwing 2, Cetti’s Warbler, Water Rail. At the Brigg 46 Purple Sandpiper...

I just discovered there's such a thing as Bird Observatories, which research & ring local beds in an area, this makes me happy.

The logs tend to read a bit like a Shipping News for birds. I love this. www.fbog.org.uk/january-sigh...

It's rainy, rainy, rainy here. And grey skies dominate my 5th floor window. Bleurgh. But every now and then I hear a snippet of blackbird song - it pierces my awareness and brings me joy.
