Loving it but it's so chaotic! I'm astounded how the seasoned vets can make their vision widen to see so many different things going on at once. I'm still having to choose one thing to focus & it causes me to miss other things. When I try to watch everything, it just looks like a jumble of bodies!
It's sooo hard! I started this year, too! Kudos on the bravery to learn something new most skaters don't!
It's transfer season in my league. 1 teammate is going to another league & 4 are going to other teams. No heads up, questionable excuses. We now have 8 skaters while another team has 17. I'm having some negative feels that I need to sort through.

Game on Saturday! Our travel team is insane, they've got a game that morning out of town then coming back to play home team that evening. That means some of our opponents are going to be tired.. But it also means some of my teammates will be tired. Crossing fingers for energy and cool heads.

Had a VERY frustrating game on Saturday night; we did exactly what we said we wouldn't & let them lead the pace. Also had a rookie ref crew which was...interesting. It happens, though. Regroup & come back stronger at the next game. and hopefully maybe not get a migraine at the next game. 😖
I live an hour away from everyone in my league; One of my team mates said she'd be close to me for a party & asked if I want to watch the no borders tourny with her. I kept thinking "she messaging the wrong person? why would she want to hang out with ME?" Is imposter syndrome with friends a thing?

Stats were sent out from our game last month. I had the highest stats on my team (in general) & I immediately think there must be errors. I keep checking discord to for a revision to be posted up as there is no way that's right. I'm only starting my 4th season.

Last weekend was fun & a great game! I got nervous there towards the end but we held out. I'm pleased with the way I played & the way we all played together. It's going to be a good season 💜💜 Next game is going to be a HARD win.. but I think we're up for it.

I'm 6'1" & I hit 6 feet when I was 14 years old. At adulthood when I tried to start dating, a lot of men admitted they couldn't date me because they were intimidated by my height & could never have a girlfriend that was taller than them. Kind of sad, really.

When I was in high school marching band, we practiced outside until it hit 103F; Then we were required to go inside. We practice derby outside sometimes in 100F but I'm also very thankful for the indoors more often than not.

I told my hubs that a downside to #rollerderby is making fantastic friends to potentially 'lose' them to retirement/transfers. To assist in empathizing, he likened it to the military - losing squad mates to unfortunate death or living too far away after going home. 🤔
Working out with hypermobility is one of this most frustrating things. Not only because of body issues in general but for people think they're being helpful by trying to 'fix' how I do things. I -have- to adjust my form to account for the hypermobility or its ineffective. </endrant>
