Ever since I was raided into your stream in 2018 you've basically been the nightly entertainment for my girlfriend and me. No matter what hard shit life throws at us we always know we have quality-fucking-content to look forward to most nights to make us smile.
So like, thanks right back, Jade.
nostalgia is remembering when you didnโt have to pay bills and attributing that feeling to mario
Yooo, every detail about this is genuinely exciting. I'm particularly a fan of the plan for getting funding from people who are actual fans of the stuff being adapted.
Killer work as always, man. Excited to see what comes of it!
A screenshot of a bit from Family Guy that shows "Therapist Joe" from the show "Blind Date" with the caption "Italians are from Italy."
I'm excited to see exactly how (and to what degree) they completely mishandle all of these measures they're announcing
Randomly remembered this stupid thing I made back in 2020 (dated 2024 because that's when the post was imported from Twitter) and man
I would have made a killing making album art in the '90s
Anyone have a time machine I could borrow?
Itโll always amaze me how executives and investors donโt think this is all extremely pathetic. To be as successful as they are and yet fail to keep 1,000 people employed would be evidence of immense failure in an economic system that wasnโt explicitly designed around maintaining a fucking delusion.
All in all, I just want *something* more substantial to come out and elaborate on all this so the misinformation can be curbed (lol, wishful thinking).
Thank you for the conversation on it though! I appreciate you!
One of the things in that issue I mentioned is that they point out that "Troubleshooting, such as turning off Memory Saver and adblockers, did not resolve the issue." so it does seem like it's now ignoring the whitelist for whatever reason and everyone is just super confused, lol
Whoops, forgot to cite my source on a post where I call exactly that kind of thing out. For shame.

Oh, and I swear I'm not trying to be contrarian or anything! Just addressing what you mentioned with the information I already have. Hopefully all of this gets some light shed on it soon because if there's one thing the Twitch community loves to do, it's spread bad information as truth, lol.
As for the viewer list thing, there actually isn't a real "viewer" list and what Twitch calls a viewer list is actually just a list of users connected to the chat. I don't know why you wouldn't show up there though unless you use an extension for anonymous chat. Weird.
That said, a comment on this exact issue from Chromium has stated that Twitch has mentioned this is an issue on their end (though they don't seem to link to this statement from Twitch, so who knows) and others say it also happens on YouTube, so who even knows anymore?
Are you using Chrome (or a Chromium-based browser like Edge, Opera GX, etc.)? Because they have a Memory Saver feature which has gotten particularly aggressive about doing exactly that. I've seen a lot of people complaining about it and every Firefox user (myself included) says they haven't seen it.

Are you intentionally being obtuse in bad faith? Because you're certainly coming off that way.
I think I'm done with this conversation because we're clearly not getting anywhere productive.
Right? Like, I didn't think this was such a divisive concept but apparently I was very mistaken.
All of my replies are public, but, as mentioned, I don't really see much of this on my feed so I'm not sure I've ever actually *had* to on Bluesky. Also, you're the one who initiated the issue so the burden of proof is on *you* to prove otherwise. I am not going to dig through my history for you.
It's not often that I see posts that are spreading unsupported claims without evidence because I don't make it a habit of following people who would do so, but when I do, absolutely yes.
...because stating claims as truth without evidence to support them is bad practice and helps no one? Especially if they turn out to be false but have by then spread so much that people end up constantly spreading bad, untrue information, drowning out the actual truth? Do we really want that world?
Like, I didn't even say that it definitely *isn't* true. I just want some sources to back up what's being said before I believe it.
How is that what I am? For simply asking for some *proof*? I didn't "Um actually" anything, I just asked for someone to actually *prove* what they're claiming to be true. I just don't understand why it's so bad to not take unsubstantiated claims at face value.
So, just so we're clear: "Can you cite your sources" is a *bad* thing to ask now? I just don't understand why this is being treated so harshly.
Huh? I'm not defending Twitch here. I'm just asking for some supporting evidence before making a claim. I'm defending *accuracy*, since when is that bootlicking?
Which, don't get me wrong, is still shitty and shouldn't be a thing. But let's not exaggerate and spread misinformation before there's any supporting evidence for such claims.
I'm not seeing anything here that proves they're not counting someone as a live *stream* viewer when the tab isn't in focus, just something proving that they don't count them as an *ad* viewer (where Twitch has actively stated that they do a separate view system for ads specifically).
Three cats that have inserted into the Hans Zatzka painting "A Fisherman's Delight".
After @elspeth.bsky.social showed off my Cleona Lisa canvas print that I made for her years back someone in chat asked if I took commissions and would do the same for their cats. I gladly accepted, and here's the final result! These projects are always fun.
Want your own? I'm available! :D
