All he ever wanted was a scrap of genuine love, and he ends up getting it in the most unlikely way. He’s a villain through and through, but his ending feels more hopeful and satisfying than Shi Qingxuan’s. The way MXTX built him is just perfect.

For me, Qi Rong has the most complete character arc in TGCF, and he’s honestly the best-written after Xie Lian. He’s not even in the story that much, but whenever he shows up, he completely steals the scene — there’s just something special about his energy.
