An agent of the state murders an American, and government leaders rush to media to call the victim a "domestic terrorist" before any pretense of an investigation. We are so far down the fascist hole.

Epstein Bantered Regularly With Larry Summers

I don’t have much hope that the economics discipline is willing and able to reform itself from the inside but here’s a pretty damn freaking obvious place to start.

Grad Students: The Larry Summers news should shed any shred of imposter syndrome you've felt in academia. Clearly, academics* can be far from perfect (at everything from spelling to relationships to human decency) and still make it all the way to the top of ivory tower.

Last week, Israeli strikes killed 31 journalists at a Houthi-run newspaper complex in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa.

@CPJMENA said it’s “the deadliest strike on journalists in the Middle East” they’ve ever documented. It follows a pattern across the region.

For anyone who isn't yet aware of the problems with her "data-driven" approach to decision-making, I'd recommend reading more about the damage she's done with her research (and her op-eds) on HIV.
