How different would MS be (and AL and LA) if a Voting Rights Bill were passed that limited the state's ability to disfranchise and place hurdles in front of Black voters?
I don't know the answer to this question and am genuinely curious. Could real federal election reform turn those states purple?
Ha!
Karma.
A significant problem in the US at least is that many voters see voting as an act of self-expression and self-realization rather than an act of civic responsibility.
100%
😭😭😭
I think he's just trying to establish himself as the moderate, southern Democrat who can win swing states. I don't think that's the lane to be in if you want to win the nomination, but it might be Beshear's best shot.
DOJ seeks to vacate insurrectionists’ convictions, while going after a former CIA Director: If Trump can make convictions disappear for allies while prosecuting critics, the damage isn’t just theoretical. Once that line is crossed, it doesn’t easily uncross itself. open.substack.com/pub/joycevan...
But I do think season 2 was intent on showing what a prick Robby can be. He was out of line with Mohan, Dana, Al-Hashimi, Langdon, Javoni. He was consistently wrong, no matter who he was dealing with.
I actually think it's a bold move for the show and Wyle to take his character down a peg.
It seems quite clear to me that we need a night shift spin-off of the Pitt.
Between seasons 1-2, no one had any major life changes. They're not going to be able to repeat that for 3; too many characters are at a crossroads.
So will viewers be ok with being informed that Mohan moved to geriatrics and Robby adopted the abandoned baby? Or will they resent not seeing it?
They did a good job of establishing how lonely Santos is. But it took all season for us to notice, because her personality makes everyone think she's full of confidence. Her co-workers still haven't noticed.
And very weird that the depositions were scheduled for a Saturday that also happens to be July 4.
Great analysis. And kudos to Noah Wyle for willingly taking his character down a peg. Because our opinion of Robby was so high coming into season 2, that he really had to commit to being a dick for it to work.
As ex prod, star, and occasional writer and director, he knows what makes the show work.
This is incredible.
Also. Fuck RFK Jr.
Randy Barnett @RandyEBarnett This is a travesty. If making allegedly questionable constitutional arguments is a disbarrable offense, bar disciplinary tribunals would be in permanent session. Jeff Clark @JeffClarkUS • Apr 15 This is a travesty. John represented the President in litigation challenging an election. That's all. He lied about nothing. Reasonable minds can disagree about the 2020 election.... 11:23 AM • Apr 16, 2026 • 20.5K Views
Reasonable minds actually can’t disagree about the 2020 election, sorry senior respected law professors
He didn’t help ‘Save America’, his strategy was to overthrow the government. John Eastman has officially been disbarred.
Well that will quiet the talk of her running for President.
Colorado Avalanche is a bad name because it screws up both parts. It should be Denver, not Colorado, and the nickname should end in an S.
But it's a huge improvement over the name the original owners first floated: Rocky Mountain Extreme. Dodged a bullet there.
Alexander Hamilton agreed with you. He thought state sovereignty should be abolished and that they should exist only as administrative districts.
Great song. First track on Third Stage and the band's sole #1 hit.
I thought his leaked tax return showed that he was NOT donating any salary to the government. That it was just another lie he's been telling.
Let’s help Coloradans with intellectual or developmental disabilities live independently. I’ll match fifty $5 donations to FRIENDS of Broomfield, a nonprofit that runs an Independent Living Academy, to teach life skills. I’ll match fifty $5 donations: www.friendsofbroomfield.org/word-of-thanks
Nah. It's a delightful little tune.
happy anniversary of when almost nothing happened
But that works both ways. Hourly/flat fee lawyers don’t have as much financial incentive to cheat.
As a crim defense/plaintiff lawyer, I find that prosecutors are more good faith opponents than corporate defense lawyers.
Maybe we should update the statute of frauds to cover cease fire agreements.
Thank you for pointing out how Trump's statements give undue credence to past accusations about America's intentions. Think how much damage they'll do in the future. Phrases like "take the oil" and killing "a whole civilization" will be quoted back to Americans for a century.
He's easily the most talented politician in America. Republicans are so lucky he can't run for Presdient.
