I've long since lost the plot on my original color intentions for this, so we're harmonizing the bg the only way I think is plausible- stormy sunset. Fingers crossed.

I think the premise here is maybe sound, but I also definitely nearly fucked it up, so maybe i stop for the day.

Wanted to get more done today, but my hand is getting shaky, which means its time to stop. Foliage about 75% done!

Progressing very slowly, but progressing. It takes so many layers to get the color I want on Yue Wuhan's stupid bondage murder vines.

I live! Life got away from me for a bit, but I'm gonna try to make some progress on the foliage today. You wouldn't think the vines would take that long, but it takes several layers to get the color as bright as I want it, and they're tiny, so it takes a lot of care.

Gotcha. Well, I think the red ostrich looks beautiful with the pale gold sheep, but it would be very reasonable nonetheless to decide you need more leather to compare first so you can make a well informed decision.

I mean, your reasoning is pretty flawless. Is the gold one of the leathers under consideration, or a piece of furniture? Because its got a beautiful contrast with the ostrich.

Base colors on one wing done! Gonna need to do some color rebalancing later I expect, but we'll see how things come together first.

And now we add the light source. Does Yue Wuhan have phoenix wings in canon? Not exactly, but then again, not exactly _not_, right?

Okay, under painting for the hair done. Both of these men are gonna have basically black hair when this is done.

Some might ask why I'm painting Song Qingshi purple, to which I'd like to be able to say, 'trust the process' but I am 100% winging it here.

Turns out they don't make a lot of desaturated warm purples, so lets see how this goes.

Alright, that's inking done on the MisVil art, and I'm going to stop there for the day. Tomorrow, need to finalize color palate and hopefully start painting.

Okay, just three flowers, some vines, and half a wing left till I'm done inking.

Hopefully, what I'm trying with half a dozen different ink colors ends up working, but you just really can't ink fire in black.

Okay, just Song Qingshi's hair, and then I'll be ready to switch inks and do a million flowers.

Honestly, in inking a drawing like this on cold press, the hair is what takes the longest, because there are so many lines and the curves need to be smooth.
