Today, I saw an ad for an air-conditioner claiming to be AI-powered! Before, it was "smart" devices. Now everything is "AI". I doubt, now even cookies would come as AI-powered cookies in cookie jars

Now, everything is DevOps. To top it all off, people promote NAT storage for personal files, keeping them open to vulnerable traffic without realising that user stupidity is the most significant security threat. Putting your file on the network will only worsen it.

I used to wonder why, on earth, we aren't using FTP anymore. When I started on a newspaper in the late 90s to early 2000s, even our news stories and final prints were sent from unit to unit using FTP, and all the uploading to the daily-built website was done by sending batches of files through it.

Is Bluesky just another Twitter, or will there be light at the end of the tunnel? When the mighty renamed it, X, would he have ever imagined that it would turn the ex-micro blogging site of millions? I don't even remember when identi.ca was gone. Will that happen here, too?
