It's been over a year since it was reported by Variety that Ali Asgari, one of the co-directors of Terrestrial Verses, had his passport confiscated to prevent him from traveling & is banned from making any more movies in Iran.

Hadn't heard anything about Terrestrial Verses, but I decided to watch it anyway & I'm so glad that I did. Nine conversations. No camera movement. Each scene dissects something new about bureaucracy, power, & religion in Iranian society. Highly recommend. Streaming on Criterion.
