It's a weird reversal to how I felt about posting when I was literally HALF my current age.

Since I take more breaks from social media, I tend to get more anxious while putting up posts more so than interacting with people in real life.

Me: Leaves twitter for days, because I have better things to do.
Twitter: Bot Behavior.
Bots: Spams nonsense and sends scam replies every 2 seconds.
Twitter: Ah, yes. A fellow human with no suspicious quirks.

Twitter has suspened my account for "Inauthentic Behavior" for a second time and I'm pretty sure twitter's algorithm and staff don't even know what that means.

All I do is like tweets, retweet fan art, and leave,because there's nothing else to do on that crapsite.

And they consider that harmful.

I didn't grow up with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle's bromance in the comics, but JL:U had Shining Knight and Vigilante's chemistry for one GREAT episode.

Of course I'm biased about JL Unlimited, because I grew up with it on Cartoon Network and never got read the comics as a kid, but SO MANY interactions and relationships have been cemented into my head as canon.

As much as I keep yelling about how Justice League comics stops individual heroes from having their own meaningful stories flow without interruption from SuperBat (and sometimes Wonder Woman).
I do love the unique chemistry and powerful friendships that come from the Justice League comics.

Of all the parts of the Astro Boy comics that never really get adapted, the Third Magician is one I personally think about a lot.

Specifically just Kino II, because the concept of a robot magician is really cool.

Science being used to make magic/illusions is kinda fitting for Astro Boy.

Tezuka fans are only allowed to say mean things about Rock Holmes and Dr. Tenma in my presence.

You can say nice things about Dr. Black Jack, but you are on thin ice if you do it too much.

Still thinking about how Tahomaru was probably meant to look like a fox when he was first introduced, but ultimately got associated with looking like a crab and how that stuck.

There is something in the choices and writing that don't allow them to go on to be on par with their contemporaries (Superman and Batman, Astro Boy and Black Jack) even though they are canonically accepted into their circles.

But there is STILL. SOMETHING. LACKING.

Sapphire is a lot like Wonder Woman in the sense that both female characters are really cool on paper and can do some pretty amazing things, BUT-

This is also probably why I have a hard time trying to figure out what Sapphire is as a character from the mangas alone. Every interpretation of Sapphire post-manga just feels like a completely different character and this further damages my prception of her character.

Both Blood and Franz got dealt a bad hand from the 1963 rewrite.
Even worse, because of that love triangle and the terribly written "romance", it made me take Sapphire less seriously as a main protagonist and this effects my perception of her even now and after reading the original manga.

Franz isn't written any better, but I count that more as an actor being given a shitty script to put up with, since there wasn't anything wrong with Franz's character in the original manga and the rewrite hinted at some new lore/potential character arc - only to let it die with Blood.

Capt. Blood is a cool character in my head until he looks at Sapphire and then I want to hit him with a hammer.

I always found Blood's sudden infatuation with Sapphire really gross ever since I first read Princess Knight. Re-reading it as an adult just cements how much I REALLY don't like him.

Honestly, I just wish Blood and Franz from #PrincessKnight got to have more intereactions, because it would keep Blood's attention away from Sapphire and make him seem less like a creep to me.

I never found his relationship with Sapphire cute or appealing and I never will. Never.

And the story seems to try to make the assailant's actions exemptable or forgivable to some extent and I... did not like how that was handled.

The story is good and has a satifying conculcusion.
But like several of Tezuka's mature works, I wouldn't recommend it to a casual reader or even other Tezuka fans.

The amount of repeated SA on female characters in this manga is honestly what keeps me from wanting to revisit it.
