RETIRING
(after Knight-in Armour)

On days I don't want to Doctor much I worry that I shall lose my touch

All that running down those corridors
Thwartings of tyrants and dreadful bores

Brave rescues from the Foul Monster's Lair And firm trouncing all the Demons There.

Chaos never ends, oh that's the shame So yes I tire of just one more game.

Sometimes when the same old fight begins
I fear, just once, I'll let Evil win.

And then, on second thought, perhaps I won't Because they're Monsters, and so I don't.

On days like that I don't think at all

That being the Doctor's so bad after all.

I went into a box and it wasn't a box.
I asked the box to go wandering.
We could go to planets.
We could visit stars Or Tuesday.
That box could go anywhere at all. And so we did.

The Weeping Angels are an ancient race of terrible power. Their true form is a mystery - they wander the universe, cursed never to see one another.
But they see everything else, The course of time and space, and even the journey of their deadliest enemy: the Doctor.
But one angel looks back in time and sees so much more...

Looking forward to this upcoming episode, @andwbcpodcast.bsky.social! I don't own these poetry books, but anything by James Goss is usually wonderful!

Last episode you mentioned LUX by James Goss was up for an award. That novelization was exceptional! Truly top notch, only just behind THE GIGGLE!

Three Doctor Who Target Novelizations arranged on a wooden table: Alien of London by Joseph Lidster, The Satan Pit by Matt Jones, and The Time of Angels by Jenny T Colgan.

The Doctor brings Rose home a year after she left... to find London in chaos. A spaceship has crashed into the Thames and an alien body lies in the wreckage.

The Doctor, Rose and the MP for Flydale North must fight to expose the Slitheen infiltration.

The Doctor and Rose travel to Krop Tor - an impossible planet orbiting a black hole, defying the laws of physics.

Whispers speak of a malevolent force imprisoned since before time - something that even the Doctor fears. As seismic horrors rise and minds begin to fracture, one terrifying question remains:
what if the Devil is real?

An improbable call for help from River Song draws the Doctor and Amy to the wreck of the starship Byzantium. The wreck contains a deadly cargo: a Weeping Angel, determined to escape.

In uneasy alliance with a squad of military clerics, the Doctor's investigation becomes a battle to survive as an army of implacable, quantum-locked killers grows ever stronger - and flesh becomes stone.

It was a very overloaded Bessie that set off. A very overloaded and slow Bessie.

"THAT RATHER DEPENDS ON THE JOB.'

Medusa - an experimental spaceship developed by the Advanced Research Department of St Oscar's University. Missing since it was launched, presumed lost in the wars, it was a project so secret that it has never been declassified.

Now, twenty years on, Medusa is coming home.

After one of the investigation team dies suspiciously, Professor Bernice Summerfield is assigned to help discover what went wrong.
But to do so she must solve a riddle. What is the strange link between the original crew and the team now on board the drifting ship? And why do their ghosts still haunt Medusa?

THE NEW ADVENTURES

JUSTIN RICHARDS is the author of the highly acclaimed New Adventure Dragons' Wrath and the fictional 'father' of the legendary Irving Braxiatel.

Back in the real world, Justin spends much - but not enough - of his time as a real father and husband. His sense of humour, however, is imported from elsewhere.

BBC Doctor Who Stormcage - A River Song Adventure By Alex Kingston

089
Zephon's ship looks somewhere between a huge nautilus shell and some sort of weird relic dug up from an alien ocean. The hull is smothered with algae and thick seaweed that looks barely blackened by the frictions of leaving and entering the atmosphere. The door stands open, and a stale, salty smell wafts from inside.

"The advantage of this ship, says Hennessey, 'is that it's a class one diplomatic ship. No one would dare attack it, anywhere we go.'
'No one would want anything to do with it, you hazard as your boots splash through brackish water that comes up to your ankles.

Lights rise in the control room as you enter, giving a beautiful sea-green glow. Different consoles grow out of the walls, each one damp with rubbery fronds and nodules.

"Any clue how the systems work? you ask Hennessey.

'I know the basics in Zephon's main languages, he reveals.
Enough to launch and land, at least. Or should we try one of the other ships?

Will you steal Zephon's ship? Turn to 075

Will you investigate Chen's ship, the Spar? Turn to 146

If you'd prefer to inspect other ships, turn to 112

Doctor Who - Liberation of the Daleks - graphic novel

Doctor Who - Liberation of the Daleks - graphic novel

NEW REGENERATION, A FAMILIAR FACE...AND THE RETURN OF THE DOCTOR'S DEADLIEST ENEMIES!

The Doctor is back - and with an appearance that's all too recognisable! But before he can ponder the mystery of his old-but-new visage, there's a much more immediate, and much more dangerous problem to deal with.

Answering a sudden distress call, the Doctor finds himself at the 1966 World Cup Final and just in time for a result no one expected.
Forget England fans on the pitch - this time it's an invasion of Daleks!

Struggling to make sense of this impossible attack, the Doctor is flung headfirst into an adventure that just gets weirder at every turn, and may well lead to the resurrection of the Dalek Empire!

Taken from the pages of Doctor Who Magazine, this thrilling story bridges the gap between the Thirteenth Doctor's regeneration in The Power of the Doctor and the Fourteenth Doctor's first TV episode, The Star Beast.

Doctor Who THE DAILY DOCTOR 365ΒΌ WHONIVERSAL MEDITATIONS ON LIFE AND HOW TO LIVE IT SIMON GUERRIER & PETER ANGELIDES

12 FEBRUARY
WHEN NICE ISN'T NICE

THE DOCTOR
Absolutely incredible: a TARDIS linked to a Stattenheim remote control! The Rani is a genius. Shame I can't stand her. I wonder if I was particularly nice to her, she might..? No.

The Mark of the Rani by Pip and Jane Baker (1985)

In the 1810s, groups of textile workers in England are destroying new machines that they believe are doing them out of work. These workers are known as Luddites, named after their supposed leader, Ned Ludd.

Around the village of Killingworth, these attacks have become particularly violent. The Doctor learns that the Luddites' aggression is the result of scientific experiments being carried out on workers by his old schoolmate from Gallifrey, the Rani. She's callously removed the chemical from people's brains which enables them able to sleep.
The Doctor sets out to thwart the Rani but can't deny her technical brilliance. He's so impressed by the remote-control system she's made for her TARDIS that he briefly considers trying to charm her into sharing her technology. But of course he immediately dismisses the idea.

Don't be nice to someone, or overlook the harm they do, just
because of what you think you can gain from them.

12 FEBRUARY WHEN NICE ISN'T NICE THE DOCTOR Absolutely incredible: a TARDIS linked to a Stattenheim remote control! The Rani is a genius. Shame I can't stand her. I wonder if I was particularly nice to her, she might..? No. The Mark of the Rani by Pip and Jane Baker (1985) In the 1810s, groups of textile workers in England are destroying new machines that they believe are doing them out of work. Don't be nice to someone, or overlook the harm they do, just because of what you think you can gain from them.
