I remember when a JetBrains dev advocate here told me that theyāre just trying to be helpful by enabling their built-in code completion model by default. I disabled it.
After installing Rider 2026.1, it reset to enabled. Thank you for knowingly ignoring my preference, I feel so very convenienced.

Sounds like they owe me an apology for discontinuing Google Desktop 14 years ago. Google app for Desktop (yes really, its full legal name) will have poorer privacy compared to Google Desktop though given itās mainly intended to push Gemini/AI Mode.
The opposite, you can make them pay you when they use data from your website. In reality though someone running a small business website on GoDaddy wonāt have much to offer them, and will barely make a few cents from this

Happy 25th Birthday OS X!š„³š
At exactly midnight on March 24, 2001, Apple released Mac OS X 10.0 (Cheetah) in retail stores
What followed became history, and to this day I consider it the greatest OS ever built
This special day deserved a real party, and everyone showed upš„¹

Updates for Updates i guess. New version out.
I mainly cleaned up the internal structure and added an auto-login function to speed-up the update process.
lmao
šā¬ļø Legacy Update 1.13 improves handling of some edge cases you might run into while using Legacy Update. It includes 23 fixes and improvements (and plenty more small changes).
Internet Explorer 8 open to a page on the Legacy Update website, where the Subscribe to RSS and Add Web Slice buttons are visible. A popup from the Favorites bar is open on top of the website, displaying the news article for Legacy Update 1.13.
Features nobody asked for: You can now subscribe to Legacy Update news as an Internet Explorer Web Slice. Just click the green button in the toolbar (itās green to show that Internet Explorer is really excited a website is actually using this feature), or the Add Web Slice link in our News section.
They did screw up by advertising features they couldnāt deliver, but this isnāt why people are going to the trouble of disabling auto update. The complaints on social media are universally about the redesign

The MacBook Neo is such an interesting machine that it coaxed a thousand-word-essay out of me: samhenri.gold/blog/2026031...
Having a āspareā Mac is a real privilege. How many people do they think theyāll be selling this to?
Firefox 115.33.0esr showing itself as up-to-date on Windows 7
Mozilla extended support for Firefox 115 ESR on Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 and macOS 10.12 ā 10.14 until August. It was due to end support last month, and they may consider extending it again.
Firefox ESRs are old versions that continue getting security updates. support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-u...
Love that the documentation says āIf prompt injection is a concernā, thereās an optional experimental sandbox feature. What do you mean āifā itās a concern? How can it not be one when youāre giving an agent unchecked control over your system?
Wild how we can be in a RAM and storage shortage and Apple just has enough of it on hand to be like yeah, our monitors that stream up to 5K pixels back and forth will have 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. Economies of scale go brrr
If you think thatās bad, OneDrive on Office 365 is actually SharePoint, which refuses to allow you to upload .aspx files, because the server could accidentally execute them
Really sorry! Busy month. Just getting back to you now š

Enjoy
Why did they acquire a store that sells other companiesā brands if, as they explain, they already have their own equivalent products theyād rather sell you?
Two of the worst companies Iāve had to deal with. Stripe doesnāt care if your use case doesnāt fit the exact shape of their APIs but will gladly sell you more APIs for the bare minimum (tax, fraud protection). Pushes Link, which confuses customers. PayPal, well, everyone knows why theyāre the worst.
The archive site, which is facing an investigation in which the FBI is trying to uncover the identity of its founder, is commonly used to bypass news paywalls.
I project that OpenAI will be long gone in 2030
Unfortunately I only see recent events like OpenClaw making this worse. Influencers talk about how they set an agent on a task before leaving the house for a few hours. I really wonder how often it actually works and how often it wastes a ton of credits trying to bruteforce a silly problem.
How are they planning to not get bonked by the ABC for this name They still hold the trademark
This seems like a poor attempt to steal the graph from this 2010 post without needing to give credit, so here, Iāll give credit for them: nvie.com/posts/a-succ...
Something really, really makes me think someone was trying to prove a point about the lack of value of image models (other than fraud) by releasing a diagram this broken. Like, this went through a pull request and someone approved it. But itās really hard to say with this company at the momentā¦
