SDP dropping this news mid-workday, after not providing a schedule/deadline for reviewing Philly’s school closure plan, is a chickenshit move. It would not surprise me if they’re about to do an unpopular thing on Thursday, and want as few witnesses to it as possible. share.inquirer.com/woX3vT

Loved writing it. In Philly, both the article and the album would be a “jawn.”
@nin.com and Boys Noize's 'Nine Inch Noize' finds on-ramps to past and current trends in synth-based industrial—it’s as close as Reznor and Ross have been to pure electronic body music (EBM) in some time

Of course I reviewed the @nin.com and Boys Noize collaborative album for @treblezine.bsky.social, I’m no dummy. www.treblezine.com/nine-inch-na...
For unionized folks in my feed:
A union negotiates a multiyear contract with X% in raises across the life of the contract. As it’s about to end, the union negotiates a 1-yr extension w/a N% raise. Is this promoted as 2 separate agreements and raise packages, or 1 agreement with raises of X+N%?
Trigger warning: SA
Shit like this makes me wonder why women trust men at all. Like, ever.

YES YES YES
Remember when Trump speeches kept portraying immigrants to the US as coming from “insane asylums,” and people started wondering if he was misinterpreting the term “seeking asylum”? Maybe the Trump-as-doctor-not-Jesus argument is the same thing…
The Phillies have had 18 playoff seasons out of 144 (a rate of 12.5%). The Eagles, 32 out of 94 (34%). The 76ers, 40 out of 63 (63.5%). The Flyers, 40 out of 58 (69%).
Even with the last few years’ struggles, the Flyers remain Philly’s most consistent chance for pro sports playoff contention.
Especially with Nine Inch Noize dominating musical discourse at the moment, I am stoked about the coming RRHOF inductee class more than I have been in a long time.
This is exactly why I built my publication thedissident.news on ghost instead of substack. Substack monetizes nazis and now human traffickers like Andrew Tate.
This just put him on my radar. Do you have any recs?
Funny, that first single worried me! And while I def liked the album overall, I was unaware of Jeff Parker’s game.
I am pleasantly surprised by it, and look forward to his next effort.
Over at @treblezine.bsky.social, let me put it this way: I’m listening to and enjoying Flea’s foray into jazz more than The Smile and André 3000.

Top 3 things I'd never think I'd see at a NIN show: 1. “Memorabilia” 2. Backup dancers 3. Mariqueen

It’s a few years old at this point, but this is still one of my favorite things I’ve ever written for @treblezine.bsky.social. (Attn: @flavorflav.bsky.social, @mrchuckd.bsky.social)
First time I’ve ever heard it, also the first one that makes sense without being a tired Philly trope.
So in a comment thread on one story covering this, someone suggested naming the new @wnba.com franchise the Philadelphia Dawn and I’m like 👀👀👀
Strongly suggest to #musicsky that you get to this corner of the Internet Archive while the gettin' is good... blockclubchicago.org/2026/04/10/f...
Is it just me, or are local and state governments/orgs using their own “America 250” graphics a lot more than the official logo commissioned by the US government? (Designed by the same firm that made the rounded-corner star logo for the bicentennial…)
Stoked to contribute to this (again).
My favorite @ladytrongroup.bsky.social LP in a while… a pleasure to write it up for @treblezine.bsky.social…
