My favourite score from Sinners is ā€œSmokestack Twinsā€.

Also I’ll add, a real hidden gem of a score (because I don’t think many people saw it) is A Quiet Place Day One by Alexis Grapsas. ā€œMemories of Fatherā€ in Harlem is my favourite.

Michael Giacchino is a favourite in our house. Ludwig Goransson has a lot of great music too. He just won an Oscar for Sinners but he’s also done Black Panther, Oppenheimer, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

CS Lewis when writing Narnia. She said it just kind of lined up perfectly so she briefly talked about it. I am not worried about my kids in public school.

For the record I wouldn’t be upset if they read a book written by another author whose religion’s redemption story inspired it. That’s equality

I was speaking with one my children’s (public school) teacher’s and their curriculum had them reading The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. She told me she dint want to offend peoples beliefs but because the end of it fell on Easter she did talk about how the Biblical account was what inspired

We had to make a policy at work that headphones have to be used in the break room and no speaker phone phone calls. Decent headphones are cheap enough there’s no reason to not use them. And cheap ones are still better than phone speakers…

Pope on plane to Angola: "A certain narrative has taken hold—one that is not entirely accurate-due to the political situation that arose when, on the first day of the trip, the President of the United States made certain statements regarding me.... Much of what has been written since then is nothing more than commentary upon commentary, in an attempt to interpret what was said. An example is the important address delivered at the Prayer Meeting for Peace on April 16. That speech had been prepared two weeks earlier—well before the President commented on me and on the message of peace I am promoting. And yet, it was interpreted as if I were attempting to engage in a renewed debate with the President
—something that is not in my interest at all."

huge portions of media think they’re the refs in a Vatican VS White House MMA fight and they’re delusional. this is a one-sided beef where the Pope says something sensible like ā€œwar is badā€ or ā€œwe should not bomb schoolchildrenā€ and all the hit dogs on Capitol Hill and Fox News lose their marbles.

And nothing ever changes if we aren’t skeptics in some things. It’s not throwing it all out, but seeing that maybe there are more ways than one to accomplish the same goals in a better way for certain individuals

Biased evidence based might not be as great as people think. It’s good to discern where that may be an issue.

A picture of a deck in a backyard with outdoor chairs. It’s all covered in 3-4 inches of snow and it’s still snowing.

Rude. We will probably double that amount by end of today. It was 18C Tuesday, 14C yesterday…

I do think it’s very funny how much of the church was like ā€œsuck it up. He’s not Christian but he can’t be that badā€ and now he does at least one blatant heresy a day

I’ll take that over our duct taped peeling vinyl… it also came with the house. The kitchen is also like this. We have area rugs normally there. Can’t afford to have it redone yet and we were going to take a loan out for house stuff but I’m not sure we want to with the state of everything right now.

age requirements on platforms from signing up. I think requiring it be higher isn’t a bad thing.

I mean kids don’t really get punished for things like underage drinking or smoking unless they cause harm. I assume it’d be enforced similarly. The adults in charge would be the ones in trouble. Realistically there’s no way to enforce anything ā€œunderageā€. There’s not even a way to keep kids under

I have some sensitive teeth and it turns out it’s not cavities, I just clench my jaw too much at night so it wears away the enamel. So I have to get a night guard. Insurance covers some at least but it’s still $180 out of pocket 😭 at least only one kid had any cavities.

If we’re being generous and assuming she didn’t mean it that way, it sounds like a bad way to frame it. Not everyone can see/judge character quickly or easily and sometimes that mean some of us have to have more walls, but if that’s what she meant it should’ve been explained better.
