Every time this tailor posts a photo of their workspace, it looks like their dog is a tailor and he's showing off the garments he made.

Reporter: What do you make of Republicans saying that Virginia—
AOC: Wah wah wah.
We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no.
What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over.

Having one AI hallucination in a work is kind of like having one human finger in your chili. Even if you take it out, the existence of it is evidence that you're doing the entire process wrong.

Palantir: National service should be a universal duty. We should, as a society, seriously consider moving away from an all-volunteer force and only fight the next war if everyone shares in the risk and the cost.
Translation: We’re going to bring back the draft. Our vision of permanent war only works if we courageously volunteer people 40 years younger than us to die for oil.
Palantir: Some cultures have produced vital advances; others remain dysfunctional and regressive. All cultures are now equal. Criticism and value judgments are forbidden. Yet this new dogma glosses over the fact that certain cultures and indeed subcultures . . . have produced wonders. Others have proven middling, and worse, regressive and harmful.
Translation: Which cultures? Oh, you know the ones.
We translated each part of Palantir's 22-point manifesto because public service is our passion

Telemetry
Take GitHub to the command line
GitHub appears to have opted anyone using the CLI into sending telemetry they will use to inform product decisions. This is sneaky and should have been an opt-in decision, not opt-out.
Disable it with `gh config set telemetry disabled`.

and then I updated gh, was just wishful thinking on my part

screenshot of WashPo editorial board August 20 2025 "The Texas Gerrymander freakout
What's happening in the Lone Star State is not a threat to democracy"
screenshot of April 21 Wash PO editorial board: "Virginia plunges America deeper into the gerrymandering abyss
The redistricting scheme was always a power grab by Democrats. Voters went along with it."
listen hun if you can't handle the Washington Post editorial board at their the Texas gerrymander "freakout" is "not a threat to democracy" you don't deserve them at their "Virginia plunges America deeper into the gerrymandering abyss"

🇪🇺🏳️🌈⚖️🇭🇺 A legal earthquake - CJEU finds Hungary to have violated EU law on multiple counts with its anti-LGBT+ legislation (as expected) but also for the first time in history, in an EU law-reshaping precedent, finds Hungary to violate Art 2 TEU in a self-standing manner.

Note that the blockade as originally announced by Trump (of the strait itself) would have been illegal, but as formulated by the DoD (of Iranian ports), it's a legal act of war.
By contrast, the Iranian 'closure' of the strait is illegal, violating UNCLOS.
I don't make the rules, don't blame me. 🤷♂️

There's more to say (e.g., how it's a terrible mistake not to pay attention to reinforcing Canadian culture and identity; and re neglect of governance/Indigenous issues and policies that make Canada Canada in favour of a one-eyed focus on defence and productivity), but I'll leave it there.

not to mention, a certain phone company CEO has apparently zero insight into what a society with 20-30% unemployment would look like, how much of his company would be nationalized and/or free internet & phone given away by governments, and/or how much of a luxury project he actually sells

I still think this is the single bleakest thing going on. Our military is on a civilian killing spree. They’re not declining these illegal orders. And no one is stopping this.
