Jobs for the boys
A cushy berth in the HOL for Starmer’s former Head of Comms after search for an overseas ‘head of mission’ role bore no fruit.
Bloke campaigned for a paedophile.
This is as bad as the Tories and shouldn’t be allowed to happen

Not before time the government are looking to reform the system for how electricity prices are charged, this is the first step in decoupling the market from the international price of gas. As expected the Tories are against it.

What else would you like to see cleaned up in UK politics?
To PM Keir Starmer and the current UK government: Palantir are the bad guys! Don’t even consider this.
"Reform" & Starmer's "Change" are meaningless... like "Democrats" all politicians should stand for these. Party names should mean something: Labour, Conservative, Liberal, Green all make sense. How about a meaningful name for Reform "Racist Chancers formerly the Brexit Party" or for short "ReFuk"?
Sir, a THIRD nonce-related scandal has hit Sir Kier Starmer.
Olly Robinson’s testimony has raised more than a few awkward questions for Mr Starmer. The ‘jobs for the boys’ being one of them and ‘did he sack Robbins in a panic’ being another. But ‘poor judgement’ written all over this shambles

@alexwickham.bsky.social: 'Olly Robbins’ evidence and where it leaves Keir Starmer'
The top line of Robbins’ testimony is damning and on the worse end of expectations for the prime minister.' 1/
If nothing else, the decision to sack Robbins, when he didn't need to, must rank as one of the most absurd acts of political self-harm any prime minister has yet committed. All of this eminently foreseeable.
Betrayal?? Brexit was the greatest betrayal of this country ever, bar none.
"I walked into a situation in which there was already a very, very strong expectation, coming from number 10, that [Mandelson] needed to be in post and in America as quickly as humanly possible," Olly Robbins tells MPs.
"There was a generally dismissive attitude to his vetting clearance"
Olly Robbins says No 10 wanted Mandelson in Washington as soon as possible and there was “constant pressure” to get him in place as soon as possible pre-inauguration
He also says that Cabinet Office didn’t think vetting was even necessary for Mandelson
But Robbins says the Foreign Office insisted
PV providing 589 watts, 345 baseload usage, battery charging at 244 watts.
By 8:15am today solar was generating 70% more than our baseload usage.
On a cloudy day, in England, in April!
The idea that being *a member of the House of Lords* in any way means you can be trusted with Top Secret/STRAP material without proper vetting is so beyond absurd that this must surely be a joke?
The natural, foreseeable, even inevitable consequence of Starmer's decision to ignore what he and we knew about Mandelson and announce his appointment as Ambassador before he had been vetted. 👇🏻
Not looking great for Labour right now.
Keir Starmer's team bid for SECOND paedo-linked ally to get top ambassador role

The UK Government are no better than a large insurance company.
Emily Thornberry tells witness to 'just f***ing approve it' – then says it herself. That's not a slip. That's 57% of the public thinking Starmer's lost control. Inflation up. NHS down. Westminster's a mess.
So am I to understand: the Tories appointed a load of right-wing people to skew the BBC in favour of them.
Labour won't fix the prob, because... it's beneath them?!
So UK has a Leftie Govt, elected by the nation, with a massive majority. And a *National* Broadcaster who has a problem with that.
🤷♀️
Telegraph newspaper editorial on Mandelson's appointment in December 2024 versus editorial today
Olly Robbins is asked, do you regret granting security clearance for Mandelson?
Robbins says he regrets that the vetting wasn't done before & he regrets that the due diligence process didn't colour the PMs judgement.
Pointing the finger clearly at Starmer.
So if anyone has lied it is @pippacrerar.bsky.social
Mandelson did not fail DV vetting
Instead he was deemed to hold a risk on a graded scale but clearance still given.
Starmer did not know the details. Robbins himself did not know the details.
Shameful that the @theguardian.com published it
Dicky Tice fraudster, tax dodger and clown.
That even Nigel Farage welcomed Starmer’s choice of metaphorical dog meat told us everything we needed to know about how disastrous a decision it would prove to be.
How did Starmer ever think Mandelson’s appointment would have anything other than a terrible ending, with enormous collateral damage?
Nah I’m sorry I’ve given Keir Starmer the benefit of the doubt for a long time. I try to be as pragmatic as I can be. But it’s this analysis alone that has me now concluding it’s time for him to go.
He can’t manage his team effectively, and it seems Olly Robbins was sacked unfairly.
Every reason why Starmer is unpopular is due to Starmer doing something completely by choice. From PIP and 2 Child, to the freebies, to Mandelson, to attacking trans people, migrants, refugees, etc.
He chose to do all this. No one forced him.
Starmer:
“I take full responsibility“
He then indicates
‘It was someone else’s fault’ -he sacked someone
Taking responsibility is the opposite of blaming or sacking others
It means acknowledging *you* got something wrong
And taking the consequences *yourself*
