During PLC 5, probationer colleagues reflected on what it means to be a teacher in Scotland, focussing on the core values that practitioners uphold. Photos show a snapshot of the professional dialogue that took place throughout this meeting. 🗣️
We had a brilliant day with Falkirk’s newest cohort of primary teachers - getting to grips with Global Citizenship Education, where it sits as part of Learning for Sustainability in the 🏴 curriculum + trying out some methodologies to help learners make sense of the big issues in our shared world 🌍
Over three sessions, Practitioner Enquiry input has supported understanding of its purpose, the development of an effective question and practical tips on how to carry out the enquiry process. A big thank you to Lisa Buchanan, Ashely Johnston and Judith Degnan for their time and expertise. 🖊️
Many thanks to Sarah Jane Anderson from @scotdec.bsky.social for providing engaging CLPL sessions on Learning for Sustainability. As well as exploring the planning of LfS, probationer colleagues were introduced to new resources that can be used to further develop classroom practice. 🌍

During this week’s core sessions we focussed on the key elements that contribute to successful writing lessons.We explored stages of the writing process including exploration of resources & how to include opportunities for meaningful feedback.Our Halloween themed context brought added excitement! 🎃

We took our learning outdoors this week at our fabulous twilight session delivered by Stacey Cassidy @airthprimary.bsky.social. We gained lots of practical ideas and developed our knowledge of planning for effective outdoor learning. 🏕️🪵👬

This week we explored planning using the Literacy Progression Pathways to meet the needs of all learners. We then took time to share our own weekly plans with our peers and discussed our non negotiables and personal choice when it comes to creating our own plans. 📔
