The irony......
Rather than having to slam on when turning a corner, into a road you know could have children playing close by, would it not be better to proceed with caution, as you were taught?
You have been taught to drive, right?
So you're not in favour of giving your kids the freedom and independence we enjoyed as kids because people can't be trusted to drive correctly?
What if the kids are not in sight, and enjoying time just hanging out with their mates, maybe having a game of football?
What if the person driving the vehicle is also a parent? Is it their number one job too, or because it's not their child the job is relegated to say job number 403?
Just walking to the shop and noticed a taxi driver sat at the lights, with that telltale head down pose. Didn't look too pleased when he realised he had been caught on camera.
Footage sent to the police for them to process.
I think your second ban should be your final ban. If you've managed to accumulate that many points and still not figured out your actions have consequences, then you need removing from the roads completely.
It will take a serious injury, or worse, for them to do something about her and her attitude to driving.
You'd think even Katie would have cottoned on by now.
I've had worse Tuesdays.
No cycling today, so a day on the beach instead.
Be I keep being told that zero carbon is a bad thing, or is just a pipe dream for us.
Just saying.......
I know they get a bit of air play on Virgin too, but I usually switch station when they come on.
I have however found out Angine de Poitrine are touring again later this year, after I missed out on tickets for their upcoming tour.
Alarm set to buy tickets for that tour this Friday!
I'm jealous. They're the big 6music crush at the moment and I just don't get it.
Does anyone else not understand the fascination with the band Geese? 🤷
They just bore me silly, and I don't see why anyone would choose to listen to them when there are so many good bands and artists around.
What sort of idiot pays that much a month for a car?! 😂
I've just bought myself a "new" car. First one in 13 years and it's electric. My fear is that because I pay a set amount to charge it at work I will cycle less. Luckily summer is coming, so I'll hopefully get into a routine that will stick.
Bit far for him to travel to teach my daughter, but glad you got sorted 👍
You can report them to the DVSA. Not sure what they can do without evidence, but still worth reporting. If others did that then they may do something about it.
Probably oblivious to the fact she's about to get those points too! 🤦
Hope you reported that instructor? That's a really shit example to set to students.
I toyed with getting a motorbike a few years ago but the numbers didn't add up, cos I still needed my van / a car. Went for a gravel bike instead.
My eldest is on the brink of giving up learning to drive and I don't blame her. She gets bullied on the roads
It's mad. I honestly can't get my head around how they think. Every excuse he came up with we shot down immediately, yet he still drove in this morning, on this beautiful sunny morning.
His route would be mainly canal towpath too! 🤦
When we explained his idiocy to him yesterday, very slowly, the penny started to drop.
I don't think for a minute he'll ever walk to work, despite it being a nice canal walk in, but we tried! 🤦
It's mad that anyone would consider driving that time and distance 5 days a week, especially as he's got into walking on a weekends. Do it in the week too, save money and have a much nicer commute into work. Total madness.
My drive takes 5 minutes longer and is another 10+ miles.
Roll on the 20° and sunshine of Mallorca.
Supposed to be -1 for my ride in tomorrow, so I'm in the van. Not risking any broken bones, plus I still have diesel in the van and it's getting sorn next week, so want to make the most of it.
Plus I don't fancy going to Mallorca with a broken leg!
I learned today that a guy in the office spends at least 35 minutes a day commuting to work by car.
He lives 1.8 miles from the office, and could walk it quicker, even on a good traffic day. He even said one of the girls from the other offices beats him home and she's on foot! 🤦
It can't be that difficult to just send them a form and say it's a driver awareness course or points and a fine, knowing 99% of them will take the course.
It won't be long before they don't have to send so many NIPs out then. Basic policing, and like you say hardly any work for them to do.
Early days with my complaint, but both the reports I submitted from Sundays ride has resulted in the police taking action. Maybe it's just coincidence, or maybe it's done the trick. 🤷
