Preliminary results from the Denver Basic Income Project that's providing cash to hundreds of unhoused people for one year using the first 6 months of data:
• NO ONE receiving $1,000/mo still sleeping outside
• Full-time employment increased
• Fewer visits to the ER
• Fewer nights spent in jail

I enjoyed Crown of Swords - I agree there wasn't a whole heck of a lot happening plot wise, but I liked the stuff that did happen. This is why I say 'arguably' - because I'm not even sure what will feel like a slog to me at this point.

Wheel of Time - First Time Reader Thread
Should I try doing semi-regular Wheel of Time (first time) reading updates here? Just have to figure out how to keep them spoiler free. Currently in The Path of Daggers
Middle Earth definitely needed some therapists.
A week of migraines (off and on) has sucked. So I made myself comfort food. Puerto Rican beans and rice - I love this dish so much. Spouse made it for me once when I was sick and now it’s my go to food when I don’t want anything else.

Directly against the left side of legs is a large brown dog. Directly against the right side, a medium black dog. Both are impossible to move when they are sleeping.
When they crowd me in the king size bed despite there being an entire empty half of it right now.
Started my rewatch of #TheWheelofTime Season 1 last night with spouse. (I’ve read through LoC and she’s a non-reader). Her commentary is so much fun. Also - now that I’ve read further than my first (few) watches, more is catching me.
I love the book bundle idea! I wonder if my local library does something similar. (Great article!)
I don’t understand this - what parts of being an author do they think they will enjoy? This is the base of everything and my favorite part (editing is my 2nd favorite because the story is already written 😂)

Kid 1 bright a friend over that they’ve been talking about to us for months. We’ve known he is trans and his chosen name since the first moment we knew about him. So it broke my heart when he came in and introduced himself with his deadname. Spouse immediately said ‘Wait.’
