I made terrible mistakes in the past, both online and in-real life. I choose to wake up and forgive myself for my actions.
I make the choice to be a better version daily, I don’t want to hurt myself + others again after the lessons I learnt. As long as I do that, ik my heart is in the right place.
You can be a good person & still have a past that would ruin your reputation at the wrong dinner table. Life is weird like that. Sometimes your worst years are what make you better later. And sometimes the reason you're so careful now is because you remember the damage you were capable of. That's the uncomfortable origin story of a lot of good people. Turns out shame can grow a conscience if you let it.

It matters that a lot of media representation of trans people doesnt show us but shows cis people cosplaying as us. It contributes to many harmful beliefs about us. Being trans isnt a costume you can throw on for an awards run and then a community you ignore after that, as has been the norm.
