I'm home and I've written a bit on my blog about post-GDC feelings:

Bear hereafter
Spent years playing Ragnarok Online, so it's natural that I dipped into Tree of Savior at some point. I keep it installed almost at all times just to keep the OST on tap.
Masayoshi Soken is just a master of motifs and arrangements. The Endsinger takes 10 years of investment in your journey and has you living in it, as you fight to justify "was the journey worth it?"
Answers is a brilliant, and haunting performance that started off pleading for answers. Then upon re-interpretation was giving them.
In one fleeting moment, from the Land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment, for anew it doth grow
In the same fleeting moment thou must live, die and know
Two pieces from FFXIV.
Answers messes me up every time I hear it, 11 years on. The genius of the team, weaving a new interpretation to the lyrics 10 years later through the Endwalker story is honestly a narrative masterclass.
First heard McKinley Dixon on an AudioTree studio session back in 2018(?). Circle The Block had me hooked. Half a dozen albums later, and he continues to flex a wild amount of lyrical and compositional talent. Magic, Alive! is one of the best albums of 2025, hands down.
Always happy to support small creators.
Every Yasutaka Nakata project is its own kind of amazing, but Perfume will forever be my favorite. A-Chan, Noochi, and Kashiyuka are incredibly charming, and wildly talented performers. edge ⊿ is probably still a highlight, but Dream Fighter holds a special place for me.
Machinae Supremacy is back in the rotation again after a few years. There's something satisfyingly meaty about their over driven guitars. Heavy nostalgia hits, especially from their original promo tracks.

We've got a trailer coming out this week that's probably one of the most ambitious and absurd things we've done. We have certainly been playing the long game doing a lot of world building this year, but it's going to pay off. It's only just the beginning (doma.company)
VNV Nation has been in the rotation since the late 90s. They've always been a standout for me, as a group that gives the solitary, desperate feels of an industrial goth group, but with distinctly hopeful, pleading lyrics.

In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 (youtu.be/T0GbNeGFg88) is the song that locked me tf in with Coheed more than 20 years ago. I know I'd heard A Favor House Atlantic earlier, and that got me interested, but the opening to this album, and this track are to this day the anthem of the fan base.
Trip hop and specifically Portishead resurfaced in my memory this summer, with Wandering Star. The down tempo, gnarly, airy sound that is distinctly 90s... pre-emo, pre-scene kid. youtu.be/4qQyUi4zfDs
I'm going to be posting a LOT of Coheed, because nearly 25 years on and they continue to kick so much ass.
Gravity's Union (youtu.be/FMSkCtQnxi8) is prime Coheed for me, in a HUGE list of incredible songs.
This track is one of those powerful, driving prog masterpieces that starts with this cutting energy and doesn't let up. Each movement of the song is raw, gripping and complex.
Went to a lot of concerts this year, after some years of going to none at all, and it got me thinking that I'll just post about music thoughts for a while.
No deep analysis, just armchair thoughts on the stuff I'm listening to and rotating through my playlists.
Every time you meet a big artist, it’s always a roll of the dice. Are they gonna be pretentious as hell, or are they actually a decent person.
3 for 3 this year on immaculate vibes, and I’m feeling super lucky.
Much like "crab", industrial music is constantly re-evolving from first principles basically anywhere where there's a bunch of metal and plastic laying about
Our Peabody speech for 1000xRESIST.
“This art form is barely unearthed. It’s too early to define it. Fund the indescribable.”
I made a game.
I’m so thankful to have a team that’s willing to support and indulge their idiot boss’s crazy ideas. Learning a new game engine on a whim, and creating this April fools prank from scratch has been a hell of a lot of fun.

THE PIT CREW TRANS AM BEGINS!!!!
THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORMS
twitch.tv/tietuesday
I have shared this story, this thread, before - but I think given the state of the world, it's worth telling once again. Maybe it can help, especially if like me, you make art, and you wonder what the use of all of it is right now.
Dug out some pictures from (wheeze) 2013(?!) when the original arrived. Absolutely gonna be grabbing the version upgrade!
Remember, don't abide an animal impersonating a human. When a petty technocrat spits some garbage, put them in their place.
