Funnily enough, the Apple ones are the only in-ear headphones I have been able to tolerate. I can wear them all day.
Well, some of the D+ shows have been the highlights of the post-Endgame MCU. They just made them all without any kind of plan.
Oh, and re-releasing Endgame with supposedly essential new material is a terrible idea, in case anyone thinks I'm defending that.
3. Where they fucked up post-Endgame is introducing SO MANY new heroes and, critically, ALMOST NEVER FOLLOWING UP ON THEM.
We should've had 3 Dr. Strange movies, 3 Shang-Chi movies, 3 Capt. Marvel movies and built a new core team that everyone could get behind.
2. The interconnectedness is what made the MCU a hit in the first place. We'd had decades of superhero films that never crossed over and constantly reset their universes to square one. Having everything be connected is the whole appeal of the MCU!
That said...
I have three thoughts about all this. 🧵
1. It's always struck me as an odd complaint that you have to have seen earlier films and it's too much work, because:
a. They're not that complicated, and
b. If you like the films, is it really such a chore to actually watch them?
The final episode of Star Trek: Picard “The Last Generation” debuted on this day in 2023. Here’s my poster for the episode. #StarTrek #StarTrekPicard
You got me looking at this again for the second time today and I just realised that the reason why Shatner has such a big head is because the AI hasn't quite altered the perspective on the original correctly. I noticed some more inconsistencies too.
A Klingon yells at Captain Kirk, “Don't wait for the ChatGPT, answer me now!l
This ship totally does lakes!
I've actually stayed on top of things and Endgame was definitely the peak. Some of the best stuff since has been D+ shows, which I realise is an even bigger time commitment.
That said, I think it's all still pretty accessible. They always catch you up. It's never impenetrable.
The feature I really want is a 'delist post' when I'm tired of the replies. The original would still be findable on my profile and by search, but wouldn't appear in the timeline, lists, or be served up by any algorithm. Not as severe as deleting, but effectively hides it from the masses.
I suppose the problem here is that could be a long way down the page. Maybe after the top three replies or so? But you'd certainly confuse people about what exactly they're replying to. And some people already get confused by that…
I bet you have some stories.
The Aqua Pod - a very boat-like shuttlecraft in the style Star Trek The Animated Series. I'm toying with the idea that it may fit into the underside of a starship hull, like the Enterprise-D's Captain's Yacht or Voyager's Aeroshuttle.
Aqua Pod high angle, showing of the hand railings. A lot of the details are just sketched roughly on the surface for now.
Comparison to the TOS shuttle. I had expected it to be smaller - and it is in profile - but it's a lot bigger than I expected from above. I could maybe shrink it down a touch.
Rear angle showing off recessed entry hatch and staging area. It's supposed to float, obviously, but can also land conventionally. In that case, the back will fold down and become stairs. This is where the Captain will set up their deckchair for sunbathing or fishing!
Captain's gig!
Today's WIP. Still quite rough, especially the outboard impulse engines which are basically just placeholders. I'm calling it the Aqua Pod.
If I could wish one film book into existence, it would be an unvarnished account of what went on behind the scenes at the highest levels on all the modern Star Wars films.
Looks like a good nebula to hide from the Borg in.
I think this is the most unintentionally funny moments in all of Star Trek.
Legion was scarier!
Linux Mint desktop wallpaper. Made using flame fractal software and Gimp I think.
I used that distro for a while 15 years ago! Let me know if you see the wallpaper I made for it in there anywhere. 😄
Heh, it was part of what sold me on the design idea!
TOP: Possible AI repaints BELOW: Probably genuine screengrabs or promo photos found on iMDB
I think it's likely that they are AI repaints and expansions of real photos, but it sure is getting harder to tell! Apart from the too-perfect feel and overdone vintage FX at the borders, the only thing that comes close to being a slam dunk tell is Shatner's missing jacket pocket, top right.

I was unsure about them at first, but they've kind of grown on me. That said, I've just had an idea for another way to do the engines, so they may or may not make the final version!

The final Levacar Mach I prototype looked like something right out of the Jetsons. It also reminded me of a Matt Jefferies concept for a Space Tug.
