Falling school rolls must be the major issue of the next 5-10 years which has least media attention.

Always amazes me that this fall in numbers is so little reported.
I can’t recall when I was more upset by the death of someone I’d never met than of that of Giles Peaker.
Me too. He always made me appreciate how wonderful that bridge is. Something that could easily be taken for granted.

Love that Surrey are doing this!!
Very sad news
Who would be an arsenal supporter??
I have a child in Year 6 in a grammar school area, it’s been eye opening. Children tutored after school 7 days a week and then falling asleep in lessons due to exhaustion. Children sitting 11 plus in 4 different areas and parents vowing to move if they pass in an area outside of where they live.
This is how I imagine the Cavaliers would dress if they found themselves in 2026.

Apple crumble?
you're telling me we had a tortoise proclaimed dead then revealed to actually still be alive, during Easter week, and we didn't line it up with Friday-Sunday?
“Slowly but surely, the state is retreating from individual entitlement-based support for disabled people across both employment and education, reframing it as a provider responsibility, without increasing provider funding, hoping we don’t notice”
What is the herb and cheese pate recipe I like I wonder? This may explain why the UK had such a poor reputation for food in the 70s!!
It’s a really good read. Enjoy
Listening to the excellent @theobserveruk.bsky.social Foundlinb podcast has reminded me of the agonising there was over teenage mothers in the nineties and how much blame they shouldered. It felt very reminiscent of the current debate around disability benefits and increases in people claiming them
