Do you conduct annual surveys to monitor your ecosystem of interest? Monitoring structures are built around field survey campaigns, which are too expensive to conduct frequently. So how do we break this mentality and build evidence over time rather than snapshots?

Friday #flearning: One of the most common mistakes I see in drone mapping is flying too high. And if the altitude is too high to discern detail relative to the features you actually need to map, larger area efficiency is an illusion.
If you are unsure about flying altitude, please reach out!
What's better? Drones, field survey, or satellites? Why should we have to choose when they all have their special talents. Here's how to integrate the best with the best to get a full picture of your ecosystem monitoring success (or otherwise!) geonadir.com/designing-a-...
Monitoring mistake we see all the time. Teams spend thousands of dollars on a drone that can't actually be used for mapping.
We are always happy to sanity check your setup before you spend money. A short conversation upfront is much cheaper than replacing the wrong drone later.
If your DEM is offset by 8 cm, your “change” is not change. It’s error.
We'veve added a controlled vertical adjustment workflow so you can bring DSMs and DTMs back into alignment before you compare them. So your time series reflects actual surface change.

A lot of ecosystem monitoring is conducted on an annual basis - maybe that's the only frequency that can be afforded, particularly with expensive field campaigns. But how much are we missing, and do our 'answers' change if we used different anniversary months to assess?
Erosion can sometimes be difficult to detect directly from an orthomosaic. But it shore pops with a slope model!
And calculating slope is literally just one click away in GeoNadir.
We're always finding little gems in our drone mapping data! Our not so little friend here is about 60cm long! Turtle beach, Lizard Island.

One click slope generation from your DSM or DTM. We can't make it any easier than that! Learn more about how to use it in your environmental evaluations here help.geonadir.com/en/articles/...
You've probably heard of NDVI. But did you know that there are a whole range of index options to help you analyse your drone and satellite data? Learn more here help.geonadir.com/en/articles/...
Multi-temporal satellite data are second to none when it comes to understanding patterns across dynamic ecosystems. See how this landscape changes with fire over the space of just 15 days! Sentinel-2 imagery now streaming on GeoNadir.
Drone mapping doesn't stop at the orthomosaic. That's just what we call 'pre-processing' - like just putting ingredients on the bench for a recipe. The real power comes from bringing multi-layers together to better understand the environments we are managing. To go beyond the ortho, let's talk!
If you thought GeoNadir was just about processing and analysing drone mapping data, think again! We love our multi-scale analysis, covering both the fine spatial detail with drones, to the broad coverage and high frequency capture of satellites. We've got your monitoring covered.
Remote sensing super power - seeing the invisible! Check out how different wavelength combinations help us tell different stories in the environment, all from space!

Different colour gradients work for different things and different people. What pops for you?

While you might play with filters on your happy snaps, DYK that enhancing contrast is a super valuable tool to help understand your drone mapping data too? Our approach to it - play til it 'pops'.

Generate slope - one click to help you assess terrain steepness and accessibility, identify erosion-prone areas, support hydrological and drainage analysis, and understand topographic variation for site planning and environmental monitoring

As humans, we love categories, don't we? Tall / short; fat / thin; black / white... It definitely simplifies our life to put complex data and observations into defined buckets. So here's how you do it with drone data! Think vegetation density - low, medium, high. Or canopy height - shrubs, trees...
Just like 'six-seeeven', it's so last year... but at least this actually makes sense!
How do you know if you training samples are likely to create a good classification? Check their statistics first! Your categories need to be distinguishable from each other, so if the stats between your categories overlap, take some time to find new ones.
It's already 'so last year...' but we forgot to share before Christmas! It's our new Classify by Thresholds feature.
Instead of staring at numbers and colour ramps, you can define your own thresholds (e.g. low / medium / high) and immediately see:
- what meets your criteria
- what doesn’t
Get the most recent, cloud free Sentinel-2 satellite data streamed directly into your GeoNadir projects in just four clicks.
Need to quickly summarise features in your drone data based on a unit area (e.g. number of dead trees per hectare)? Too easy.
Co-incident drone and satellite data on the one platform. Sweet for scaling up your measurements. Now that's cool!
Get the big picture with Sentinel-2 satellite data now streaming on GeoNadir. Now you can cover larger areas and see the invisible, with NIR and SWIR visualisations making your features pop.
Supplement your drone data with large area analysis from satellites. We help you tell the whole story, not just the zoomed in part.
Do you do NDVI? Yes, sure! But we do a lot more than that too! Try us out for a whole range of indices that help you get a better understanding of the site you are monitoring.
