For anyone that playing along at home, it’s a Royal projector manufactured in Chicago (answered by someone else on Facebook). The only similarity to an Edison is the apparent use of an internal shutter. Edison did not produce any enclosed heads, used square magazines, none were black, etc., etc.

Another interesting feature of this one is that it seems to have an internal shutter, like an Edison. It would be more typical to have a shutter in front of the main projector head.

The two that I have of a similar table top style, a Power’s Cameragraph No. 6 (1909) and a Monarch (1907), both have open heads. The film path was exposed between the magazines so it was more of a fire risk.

It definitely predates 1937. I’d guess circa early 1910s. Travelling picture show era, for running shorts and slides rather than multi-reel films. Light tabletop base with telescoping legs you can remove with a thumb screw. Fully enclosed film path makes it seem a little later others of this style.

Any idea what the projector is?

Wild that they can even call executive branch employees “judges.”

Siena is beautiful. Probably my favorite stop on my one trip to Italy, even though I only spent a couple hours there. My favorite part of Rome was Trastevere (also where I had the best food).

But nobody outside of the greater New York area in the Northeast Corridor can make decent NY style pizza. NY, NJ, eastern PA, that’s it.

I was supremely disappointed by Italian pizza. Especially Roman, which barely counts as pizza. New York style is the peak form.

I don’t understand what is so scary about open borders. People are people on both sides. And some people’s families have been living on both sides since before the borders existed.

Everyone loved the “blind date with nitrate” until Peter picked The Journey to Tilsit. Except for me… I’ve hated most of them. They usually pick the worst one as the blind date.
