It's been an interesting few days to say the least... but THE DAKOTA INCIDENT comes out this Wednesday, and I'll be signing with Milestone Co-founder Denys Cowan THIS SATURDAY at The Comic Den in Los Angeles. Let's cap off this month with a celebration for Milestone. ⚡️🚀⚖️⚙️
Literally working on the sequel.
Finished reading Omar Holmon's "We Were All Someone Else Yesterday: Poems."

Man oh man this was good, not just what he writes about, but how he writes. Really hope he has more to come.

Every day I wake up and deal with people romanticizing the early 2000s and making me feel old
Juicy on the ass
Someone a decade+ younger than I asked me if I saw the Matrix in theaters and how cool that must have been
Yes! Put her in an Exiles book!
Becky gave me SUCH anxiety. But like, fun?
I kinda miss her...

a very special #throwbackthursday piece for a very special day: our birthday! May 15th, 2024 marked our 10-year anniversary! Today and all this weekend we're celebrating by sharing pieces of us from around the web!! Join us!
Wrote up Jive Poetic bringing slam poetry back to New York Comic-Con. Jive had a bunch of nerds in and out of cosplay reading poems to a packed audience at #NYCC2025. Never thought I'd live to see the day.

Wrote about the masterclass @suckerpunchprod.bsky.social put on in #GhostofYotei. The juxtaposition of Atsu becoming the onryo while re-discovering her heart + the respect given to the Ainu people and them representing a different path, all had my heart hurt, broken, and full in the best way
This speech never gets old.
I had completely forgotten bearded, internet-addicted Doug existed.
This was quite a thing...

Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me? Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.
this iconic advertising copywriter named Kathy Hepinstall Parks died over the weekend and I wanted to share something from her website I thought Bluesky would like
I got to chime in for this @npr.org write up on the etymology and evolution of nerd by Joe Hernandez.
You can't won't hear it but I had the 'In the air tonight" drum breakdown on repeat for the entirety of the interview out of pure excitement.

The thing with Pedro Pascal is he not only gives a fuck; he knows he's huge enough to spend all day trashing bigots safely because entire franchises are built around him atm. He's no dispensable Gina Carano-tier secondary guy. This also underlines how most famous artists as big as him are cowards.
