(plus it's not doing the trippy effect hehee). i mean this thing could just have compressor-like settings but for the visual portion. i dunno, rambling

i ask cuz thinking spatially, what things 'sound' like is not just what freq are there but how they come and go and i want to grasp it more. i sorta rigged it up in Pro-Q with a spectral/dynamic tilt here, but beyond the attack and release settings it's not very controllable

fabfilter pro-R has visual frequency decay for the reverb. their EQ is amazing but doesn't do this for 'dry' signals. is there an EQ that can do this? basically an EQ with HPPD/tracers lol

with phone and PC on the same wifi network, you just drag folders into a browser window pointed to an IP that VLC gives you. (dunno if it's just your phone's IP). i have encountered absolutely zero issues or hurdles

NERDS: you can use VLC on your phone to simply store a music library locally. makes it easy to bypass whatever ecosystem your phone has. i could be a dullard but i didn't know this until about a year ago. it's been great and makes me like music again

promo THREE this one was also an attempt to sound like television but it sounds more like the last couple sonic youth albums. to the extent that i specifically asked a couple SY superfans if parts were accidentally stolen

over the next week or so, i am going to make several ‘teasers’ using unregistered demo video software that doesnt let you save so i have to screen record it in windows

it's got oodles of motorik action, some fuzz, is LOUD, and just ~sounds~ good. im very, very proud of it and hope some folk out there can enjoy

i learned a SHITLOAD about recording and production making it- not just flying off of inspiration, i worked hard to acquire and apply new knowledge and i think that worked out beautifully.

first preview track started as an attempt to sound like Television but i got early Ween, (a bit of) Allmans at Fillmore East, and Pavement instead.

second preview is a little more dour and has piano. but PLENTY of polyrhythms to hypnotize ya. it could even be called pretty.

(a good thing! i like that album.)

for its evil companion, another was supposed to be like early bibio maybe (?) but it sounds like incubus "aqueous transmission" lol. sometimes things just have to go right to the bin

was trying to write some marquee moon-esque dual guitar stuff but i may have just rewritten a song from "rather ripped" instead

when i get rich i’m going to get a stereo setup so advanced and so audiophile that the only things left to listen to are tracks 5, 6, and 8 off a norah jones album

discord is pretty good but i think best for IRL friends. larger ones of anons i've been on are chaotic and unusable

real life communities being hollowed out is beyond obvious but loose online ones?? been on plenty of message boards with a boom/bust cycle but rarely have i seen the kind of platform-scale decline that twit/FB have going. extra depressing that we can't even have loose online community either haha :(

think i could be suuuuch a good editor. too bad that’s not really a job anymore. it’d be wonderful to work with someone to strengthen a piece, determine their goal, the intended audience, etc and honing it into something sharp together
