A large groundhog stands vertical, looking to the image right in profile, next to a concrete stoop with recently filled holes.
A large groundhog crouches next to a concrete stoop with recently filled holes.
The neighbor has had groundhogs under the front and back stoops for years. Recently they blocked off the entry holes for a couple weeks, with a camera watching them. Then they filled the gaps with concrete. Gotta commend them on not killing the […]

They look like they’re wrestling, but they’re actually asleep.

For the weekend crowd: my new Kickstarter is live.
Yes, I wrote a novel for April Fools' Day. Yes, it's real. No, it shouldn't be. Would I appreciate your support? Yes. Yes, I would.

Buttery Males!
A large Tuxedo cat lays stretched out across a couch, sleeping on his back and partially rolled to one side.
Now that my Masto instance is working again, time for a #caturday post.

All of the clocks have changed, but my microwave still knows the truth.
Damn, MapQuest swims up from the depths for a moment of cultural relevance.

I'm polyamorous and normal about it. We exist.
Not exaggerating when I say I would like a personal, handwritten apology from every pundit who barfed out a dozen "the left wants to change the way you talk!" op-eds based on non-mandatory guidelines in obscure PDFs.
“Torrenting from a corporate laptop doesn’t feel right”: Meta emails unsealed
A photo of Aaron Swartz (1986-2013) when he was 19.
Last month, Meta admitted to torrenting a controversial large dataset known as LibGen, which includes tens of millions of pirated books. But details around the torrenting were murky until yesterday, when Meta's unredacted emails were made public for the first time. The new evidence showed that Meta torrented "at least 81.7 terabytes of data across multiple shadow libraries through the site Anna’s Archive, including at least 35.7 terabytes of data from Z-Library and LibGen," the authors' court filing said. And "Meta also previously torrented 80.6 terabytes of data from LibGen."
Meta illegaly downloaded 80+ terabytes of books from LibGen, Anna's Archive, and Z-library to train their AI models.
In 2010, Aaron Swartz downloaded only 70 GBs of articles from JSTOR (0.0875% of Meta). Faced $1 million in fine and 35 years in jail. Took his own life in 2013.
A middle aged man helplessly holds an alligator’s tail as it steals his hat
In a sentence never before uttered by humans, I am delighted to share that an alligator stole my conservation instructor’s hat by jauntily walking into the water while wearing it 🐊
REPORTER: You are talking tonight about the US taking over a sovereign territory. What authority would allow you to do that? Are you talking about a permanent occupation?

The Treasury Department right now. People are turning out against Musk and DOGE staging a takeover of the Treasury’s payment system. This crowd is big. The whole block is packed. “Lock him up,” everyone yells.
I know we all love to criticize older generations, but in the 20th century if someone did a Nazi salute you could almost guarantee that a WW2 veteran would punch them in the head, and I think there was a great societal benefit to that.
"that wasnt a nazi salute he didnt mean to" okay, dipshit "you should put an RF shield around your router" okay dipshit "5g causes cancer and its a mind control thing" okay dipshit "i dont wear seatbelts or get vaccines or whatever dumb thing it is this time" okay dipshit you see that? you save all of your energy and you firmly establish who is a dipshit in the situation. give it a try some time!

Rumors of me being heartless are now proven untrue. A hospital confirms that the noise my chest makes is indeed coming from a heart.

Do people really not know that TikTok was in fact banned and STILL IS BANNED, like fully according to the law? The legislation always targeted the app stores and, in fact, the TikTok app has been taken down. Nothing Trump did or can do will change that. TikTok is banned! Right now!
