Dug a surprising number of trenches in Northern Ireland. This was in South Armagh in 89 where we spent the longest time in trenches since the Korean war on Op TANTALUS the refurbishment of watchtowers. Trench was had overhead protection in 3 parts -fire trench, sleeping area and admin area.

The younger me beside the older me 36 years apart. A difficult tour during a difficult time. 2 KIA & ~6 badly wounded in our sub unit of about 100. First time back in Londonderry since then. Place is unrecognisable and thriving thankfully.
