My gig in Somerset takes an unexpected turn when a heckling pensioner becomes rather flirtatious. Ellie has a run-in with a call centre scammer and is assaulted by a roast dinner on the streets of Sheffield.

It’s a new episode of The David Eagle Podcast.

This week: confusing conversations with computers. Henry II and Simon Cowell disagree on the musical merits of farting. Ellie goes to Laos, where she meets with Dominic Monaghan who’s recovering from an altercation with a lizard, & is embroiled in a gambling scam.

The David eagle Podcast returns with a new weekly series.
Join me in the bath with a pair of geese, a call to my bank takes a sordid and confusing turn, and Ellie and I have some weird massage experiences. Plus, we go abroad, but I don’t know where we’re going.

Episode 1 of See No Eagle is up on BBC Sounds!
You can now subscribe to the full series so you don’t miss the next three instalments.
It would be nice if you subscribed, as then it might hoodwink the BBC into thinking I’m popular and give me a second series.

I’m doing an hour of stand up at Leicester Comedy Festival on 16th February.
I’ve only done one post about it so far and tickets are selling rather nicely. But not so nicely that I don’t do a second post. So here’s a second post.

Tickets fully booked for my BBC Radio 4 recordings next week. Due to impartiality rules they had to give half the tickets to people who hate me. But you still have two chances to see the show before it’s recorded. Sheffield this Tuesday and Whitley Bay on Thursday. Ticket links in comment.

Screen shot of a Facebook comment from Mark Wilson that says “our rankings for great comedy gigs over the last 16 months in terms of “laughs per second” are as follows.. 1 David Eagle, 2 Chris McCausland, 3 Sarah Millican 4 Zoe Lyon’s, Gary Delaney, Rosie Jones, John Long. And they were all v v funny. Don’t take my word for it…just go! Not that we should over analyse these things, but I just did…sorry”

Thank you Mark for this hearty endorsement; it means a lot. Obviously it might mean slightly more if you were a TV commissioner, producer or comedy agent, but thanks very much anyway. And extra special to beat that other blind comedian. Wait til he finds out I’m also better than him at dancing. :D

Derby, on Sun you have the opportunity to see my standup show The Eagle Is Candid. It sold out in Leicester within 1 day but alas, Derby hasn’t yet. Does this belie a comparative lack of intelligence? Yes, I’m hoping that playing on local city rivalry might shift the last few tickets. #derby #comedy
