That’s where PIH Engage comes in. Together, we mobilize our communities to demand health equity everywhere: https://www.pih.org/organize

You’ve probably never needed to know what PEPFAR is, or how a supply chain works, or what happens when foreign aid freezes.
But if you want to understand how a health system instantly collapses, start here: www.pih.org/article/supp...
The system is called GHSC-PSM. It is run by Chemonics International under a USAID contract. And it is being shut down.
This is not just storage.
It is continuity. It is access. It is survival.
And yet, for the 140,000 Haitians living with HIV, this warehouse, and the system that feeds and empties it, is the single most important piece of infrastructure in the country.
Few people outside the global health supply chain world have heard of it. It is not the kind of thing that trends.
On any given day, 8-15 million dollars’ worth of lifesaving medical supplies are stored there, sorted across roughly four hundred product lines.
There is a warehouse in Port-au-Prince...

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all those touched by his remarkable life and work: www.pih.org/press/partne...
Since joining the PIH Board of Trustees in 2012, Kidder stood with us through moments of both growth and challenge, always a steadfast advocate for the rights and dignity of the poor.
His 2003 book Mountains Beyond Mountains introduced millions to the fight for global health justice and helped inspire a new generation to carry that work forward.
We mourn the passing of John Tracy Kidder, an esteemed author and longtime friend.
A Pulitzer Prize–winner, Kidder died on March 24 in Boston at the age of 80, surrounded by loved ones.

PIH is working alongside the Ministry of Health to deliver food and social support to those who need it most, but it will not be enough to stem the tide of the suffering to come.
We’re seeing the effect take place in the sites we work in:
In January, Malawi signed an MOU with the U.S. Government that will cut U.S. contributions to national health funding by a third, citing a lack of “U.S. national interests” in the country and compounding an already dire situation.
The near destruction of U.S. foreign assistance that began in early 2025 is projected to cause up to 22.6 million deaths by 2030, depending on the scale of defunding.
3. Establishing unachievable conditions to co-financing that manufacture failure.
