Oh, I got it. Yeah, I'm saying that I don't use a travel adapter at all, I cut the US plug off and replace it with a genuine UK plug, fuse and all.

Aren't all British plugs fused? All the ones I have ever dealt with have been.

When I travel to the UK I buy a cheap power strip, cut off the plug and when I get there I splice on a UK plug. Best (worst?) travel adapter ever!

If we can automate this process, then why can't automate voter reg? Oh,right, they prefer we die in a war than actually vote in elections.

So it turns out that when you take care of your citizens and teach them, they tend to end up quite liberal and do not vote for conservative politicians.

This is why most of the GOP are quite against these things.

That said, in theory we could challenge the results, and the courts are supposed to be able to do this. But SCOTUS is basically owned and operated by the GOP, there is little chance they'll do anything. Plus they move so slowly it basically comes to nothing anyway.

As I understand it, this is actually by design. The founding fathers, for all their forethought on this, believed that the people could not be relied upon to vote in the right person.

Hence the fact that we are a representative democracy, not a direct one, with an electoral collage.

I'm sure it'll only have a positive impact on the gas prices here and elsewhere (positive for the people selling the gas, not buying it).
