Latvia's Constitutional Court has ruled a requirement for the national public broadcaster to produce content in minority languages, like Russian, is unconstitutional. The Court said Russian language media is widely accessible through commercial outlets, so it's not under threat.
But shifting from professional fact-checking to user-led moderation raises real concerns.
As we explored in our piece, this risks to weaken accuracy, amplify misinformation, and sidelining marginalised voices.
